Film recommendation.

Full Metal Jacket is good, but I prefer Platoon. Probably Charlie Sheen's best performance.

Last weekend Ch29 showed the film "Wu Xia" - a very thought provoking and well shot film about justice and morals.

It also featured the stunning Tang Wei who out does Grace Park for Grace Parkness.

Django. Go see it.

Watching Dredd on Bluray and the home theater 5.1. Awesome movie. The slow motion sequences are incredible.

Skyfall out yesterday, Bluray purchase coming up.

The Intouchables was superb, as was Argo.

Just saw it now.  Was expecting it to be a bit meh considering how many thought it was so.

I thought it was brilliant.  Not LOTR brilliant but well worth going to.  3D effects were good too (not sure why people moaned about that too).

Oblivion. Worth a watch.

Oblivion was alright. Had to laugh a few times, like when the woman in the pod was revived, she was throwing up but it didn't look like vomit. then towards the end of the film Tom Cruise said her her "remember what I last said to you (Or something like that), Someone in the audience said "Swallow this!"

It was.....a bit odd, pretty dark and.......um, really quite odd. Enjoyable though.

Trance, quite a decent thriller in the sea of mediocrity these days. Of course, the fact that Rosario Dawson shows us all her wares (x2) helps a bit too.

Am watching 300 on TV2.

It's really, really sh!t.

But I'll probably see it through to the end (or play FIFA soon).

Watched The Loved Ones last night. Um...wow. Had no idea what the film was going to be about and still didn't about 30 mins in. I give it 1.25 thumbs up

Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame.

Just shown on Ch 29.  A rip snorting whodunnit with wuxia action and lots of missives on "the end justifies the means".

Tsui Hark (major legend) directed and produced.

Star Trek - Into Darkness in 3D wasn't too bad. gonna watch it again tonight!

Just finished watching The Warring States on Ch29. A good if not spectacular film about Sun Bin (descendant of Sun Tzu).

Solid, enjoyable and a new actress Jing Tian.  

Watched this yesterday, it was pretty good.

Also went to see Fast And The Furious 6 on Saturday.  Completely mental, but enjoyable nonsense all the same.

Dilemma - Keep watching Die Hard 4 (TV3) or switch over to watch East is East (Maori TV) at 9:30 pm?

WWZ not as bad as the reviews suggest. Some silly plot issues that suggest the budget was blown and they were keen to wrap it up but deffo worth going to see. Where are the writers these days?

I just saw WWZ and though it was actually pretty good.

Watched "Bullet to the head" starring Sly stallone as a hitman set in the New Orleans area. Was pretty good.

Am watching "The Punisher" on Prime.

It is so shonky that it is quite enjoyable.

It stars Dolph Lundgren of "University Soldier" fame.

Saw it last night and thought it was garbage.  Paul Iffil was sitting behind me at the cinema, but I have no idea what he thought of it.

We were in the toilets at the same time after the movie, but I was....um....too distracted to ask him anything.....about the film.
