The Big Sleep (1978). Very much a random find...  https://youtu.be/s_fPkvspEho

Based on the Philip Marlowe character created by Raymond Chandler.

Still not sure if it's bad or good or...  🤷🤷
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I liked Thelma and Louise (1991) 9/10

Superb performances from Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis (her husband was soo funny). Watched it a few times back in the day. Loved the re-watch.

Just watched it. An outstanding look into a player that had more clubs than Jack Nicholas. Seems like a genuine nice guy that you'd like to be around. a lot of fun. Yet he's no mug, had talent and over 100 Premier League goals. I think any fan of football would get some enjoyment from watching it.

Recently finally watched Forrest Gump for the first time, heartbreaking and very emotional, especially at the end. I still had tears in my eyes for some time after it had finished.

I don't think I have ever watched it from start to finish.  Only caught bits here and there when it's been on tv. I should sit down one day and do that.

Anyone else ever watched Smokey and the Bandit? Very enjoyable and funny.

It stars Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jerry Reed, and Jackie Gleason.

A second and third film were made which I haven't watched, but they are apparently nowhere as good as the original. The third film also only focuses on one of the main characters.

You might've heard the song that was made for the film 'East Bound and Down' it's bloody catchy.

Prime Minister - a documentary on former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern - is set to release nationwide in cinemas on September 25.
Here is what you need to know ahead of its release.
What is the film about?
Prime Minister tells the story of Dame Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand’s 40th Prime Minister from 2017 to 2023.

I wonder if we'll see if Clarke gets any lines??

Some of the footage is from Clarke, and has a cinematographer and producer credit as a result. He gets some lines from the sounds of things.

A friend of Mike Hosking's, who owns a Bar/Resturant down beside the Harbour seems to know a lot about them and some of the less than subtle hints about both of them makes you wonder. He's on Facelessbook and pull no punches about what he thinks.

the amount of unsubstantiated shark that gets flung is extremely gross to the point that police have to do the unprecedented and make statements refuting gross rumours. It's of no surprise that one of nz's shark stirrers keeps such filthy company.

I'm not a fan and some of the stuff he says better be true or he'll end up in court. He keeps on calling Hipkins, "Napkins". I get the impression he's a short arse trying to play the big man with a bit of wealth. A John Key buddy.

Totally showing my age here, but I used to listen to him on National Radio’s Morning Report. Seems like he’s swung hard right since I last heard him.

Pike River is absolutely worth seeing. It could've easily been overly sentimental but instead it manages to be intense without feeling manipulative, and while I'm not that familiar with the facts it doesn't feel like it takes too much dramatic licence.

Also if you're like me and guilty of having thought of Melanie Lynskey as "the girl from Heavenly Creatures who isn't Kate Winslet" then this will leave you with a whole new respect for her.
