Man City vs some bubbles in he Europa League tonight.  Odds are very short for everything to do with City, but them to score 4 or more goals is tasty at 3.60.

Total Man City Goals Four Or More 3 @ 3.60

bastard millionaires just faffing around after they get to a comfortable lead.

Big gambling this weekend.  Hopefully will get some time to look at all the fixtures later today, but early thoughts are West Ham to draw with Liverpool, Herndandes to score for Man Utd, Arsenal to smash the brummies and England to beat France in the 6 nations.

So what is going on this weekend:

Aston Villa vs Blackburn - I have seen that Christchurch's Ryan Nelsen is going to wear a black armband for the victims of the earthquake, which is a very nice touch.  Unfortunately for him, though, I cannot see his side picking anything up at Villa park.  Darren Bent had a ridiculous record for scoring opening goals when he was at Sunderland, and I can see that happening here (although will be going each way to give myself a bit of breathing room).  First Goalscorer Darren Bent 2 e/w @ ï¿½4.50

Everton vs Sunderland - I predicted that Sunderland would struggle without the above mentioned Bent, but they have hardly seemed to have played since he left so I guess I have been proved wrong.  Everton have been crazily inconsistent this year (the loss to Bolton against the 2 performances versus Chelsea being a perfect recent example) but will have too much against the blunt Mackem attack.  Everton to win to nil 2 @ 2.30

Newcastle vs Bolton - Since Andy Carroll has left the hard as nails north east for metrosexual Liverpool, he has been spotted at a Boyzone concert and (probably) getting his nails done - actions that would have the geordie folk spluttering into their pints of dog.  Bolton folk are pretty solid themselves, so with no idea how this game will go, I will predict Kevin Davies to foul every Newcastle player and the game to desend into a kicking competition.  Over 55 booking points (10 points per yellow card, 25 per red card). 2 @ $.60

Stoke vs West Brom - Roy Hodgson teams never win away games.  End of story.  Stoke to win 3 @ 1.91

Wigan vs Man Utd - Apparently Wigan have scored 1 goal against Man Utd since they have been promoted and that is not likely to change this weekend.  Arsenal's win over Stoke has ensured that they cannot slip up, and although their away form has been scratchier than a jumper knitted out of steel wool, they will have far too much against the latics.  I can see Herndandez getting a run out after the midweek travels to France, and I fancy him to score. Hernandez to score at anytime. Hernandez to score at anytime 2 @ 2.00

Wolves vs Blackpool - and the relegation 6 pointers begin.........Blackpool had a massive (and lucky) win over Spurs during the week and will be full of beans against the bottom placed Wanderers.  So far this season Wolves have beaten Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City at their home ground (which I cannot spell or be bothered looking up) but struggled against all others.  As I cannot get a bet on DJ Campbell scoring a goal and running off with his shirt in his mouth, I will pick him to score and Blackpool to win. DJ Campbell to score at anytime and Blackpool to win 2 @ 5.50

Arsenal vs Birmingham - I f**king hate Birmingham after the semi final in this competition, so I hope Arsenal win 14-0 and then their team bus catches fire on the way home to the Midlands and they have to walk the last 58 miles.  Blue nose c**ts.  With Cescy Fabregas out, Robin Van Persie will be captain for the gooners, and in my book that means he gets to take penalties, free kicks, and throw ins if he wants to.  The dutchman with the irratiing hair got me back on track with a goal against Barcalona, and I fancy him to get a couple here. RVP to score 2 or more.  RVP to score 2 or more 2 @ 3.75

West Ham vs Liverpool - During the week West Ham were exciting while Liverpool were boring but got a result after they scored when the opposition keeper finally fell asleep.  This is the way it seems to have been these last, oohhhh, 15 seasons (apart from the West Ham being exciting part).  Liverpool struggled to score in two legs past a defence marshalled by Mad Tommy Repka, a player who was useless for West Ham in his peak 15 years ago, which doesn't say much about their attack without Gerrard, Suarez and Carroll (and incidently, doesn't Gerrard Suarez sound like a character off an american daytime soap?  No?  just me then).  West Ham have Demba Ba (the lyrics from The Lion sleeps tonight) and the hammer making their full home league debuts, and will be much better off for it.  Draw 2 @ 3.10

Man City vs Fulham - sparky goes back, blah, blah, blah, dodgy away form, blah, blah, blah, unbeaten at home since they last lost, blah, blah, blah.  This whole thing took too long and I am too tired to care.  Home win 3 @ 1.53

Nothing took my interest in the Super League this weekend, so just put a speculator on the EPL.

$5 on draws in the villa/rovers, everton/sunderland, newcastle/bolton & wolves/blackpool games. Covered getting 3/4 & 4/4 right. Returns $269 if I get all 4 correct.

my wife just reminded me I put some bets on the oscars last night, but I cannot remember them.  Watching a re-run of the ceremony tonight so hopefully it will ring some bells.

A mixed bag over the weekend:

Aston Villa vs Blackburn (First Goalscorer Darren Bent 2 e/w @ ï¿½4.50) Loss.

Everton vs Sunderland (Everton to win to nil 2 @ 2.30) win

Newcastle vs Bolton (Over 55 booking points (10 points per yellow card, 25 per red card). 2 @ $3.60) loss.  When I heard that there had been a red card I thought I was quids in, but no such luck.  No bookings for the barcodes and I think only 2 for Bolton meaning 35 points (the straight red is actually only 15 points - 25 points is for 2 bookings).

Stoke vs West Brom (Stoke to win 3 @ 1.91) tonight, so still alive.

Wigan vs Man Utd (Hernandez to score at anytime 2 @ 2.00) win

Wolves vs Blackpool (DJ Campbell to score at anytime and Blackpool to win 2 @ 5.50) not even close (although he was sent off so I was right to predict he would have an impact on the game).

Arsenal vs Birmingham (RVP to score 2 or more 2 @ 3.75) loss.  He scored one and I was confident of him getting another but he was dragged.  I guess it was because he was injured, but I feel robbed with this bet.

West Ham vs Liverpool - (Draw 2 @ 3.10) loss, but I am happy about it.  Great performance by the hammers, and if Liverpool had scored another after they got it back to 2-1 it would have been very unjustified.

Man City vs Fulham (Home win 3 @ 1.53).  Loss.  Piss.

Might be better off betting the same amount each time, you would lost $2 less in your last lot of bets.

May be better long term.

They are always real short on these games, because there are just so many challenges in this fixture.  From memoey, over 65 points is about 1.50, where for a normal game it is about 3.60

Haven't really looked at bets for today, and heading out to play (odds on me scoring?  8 to 1).

Think the brummies will have a Carling Cup hangover so will draw against WBA (3 @ 3.20), and that West Ham will beat Stoke City (5 @ 2.10)

wanted to see the teams before betting on the Liverpool vs Man Utd game, and it seems that both teams are lining up in a 4-4-2 formation (although I think that both Rooney and Kuyt will play from a wide midfield position).  Over 2.5 goals is 2.20 and although over 3.5 goals is tempting at 4.33 I will play it safer. Over 2.5 goals - 3 @ 2.50

I fancy it to be a niggly game, and odds of a sending off are 3, which is pretty good.  A sending off in the game - 3 @ 3.00

I also think that little Suarez is a top top player and has the ability to get amongst the the makeshift centrebacks of United so chicking some money on him.  Suarez to score at anytime - 3 @ 2.50

oh well, onwards and upwards.

Wolves vs Spurs, and I have to hope that the 'orrible yids win this for the sake of West Ham.

No Spurs strikers has scored many goals this season, but I quite like Pavlacheko so will throw 3 on him to score at anytime @ 2.87.  Also, as I am bored, I have got a quid on a penalty to be awarded and missed @ 15.

team news through for the Barca vs Arse game tonight, and Fabregas and RVP are both starting (although Diaby is also playing so it is not all good news for the gooners).

I actually fancy Arsenal to qualify from this tie, especially as Pique and Puyol are both out, so am going with Fabregas to score at anytime- 3 @ 6.00, and Arsenal to qualify - 3 @ 3.25

Last night I placed $20 on Ross Taylor to top score for the black caps. Thank you Rosco.

I've reinvested some of my winnings in the following:

India V Netherlands - Sehwag has been on fire early the entire tournament - infact his entire career. He is the type of player that scores quickly, provided he survives and I feel that with him striking first he will reach 10 in no time, especially against a minnow like The Dutch. Only concern is him getting out, or hitting a single first ball as the greatest batsman of the modern era is at the other end. India Race to 10 - Virender Sehwag ($70 @ $1.80)

I have also included the following in a multi:

India V Netherlands - See Above. Unfortunetly the odds had dropped by the time I put the multi on.

Tottenham V AC Milan - Tottenham looked mighty impressive against Milan in the first leg and I believe they can replicate that form at home. I have taken them to lead at half time because I have a lecture starting at 10 and would rather be able to watch what is going on.

Everton V Birmingham - Although they looked impressive in the Carling Cup final Birmingham have had a heavy schedule of late and were awful against West Brom. I can't see them doing any better and so have taken Everton to be up at the break.

Auckland City V Canterbury United - Canterbury has obviously been affected by the recent events in Christchurch and will likely suffer some rustiness as they haven't trained in a few weeks. However Auckland has secured a place in the semi-finals and will not want to risk injury in what is effectively a nothing match for them especially with a semi just 3 days away. My hope is that ACFC play a weakened side and that Canterbury overcome the odds to win.

MULTI:

India Race to 10 Runs - Sehwag - $1.65
Spurs V Milan HT Result - Spurs - $3.00
Everton V Birmingham HT Result - Everton - $2.05
ACFC V Canterbury United - Canty Utd - $5

All 4 Bets $5 @ $50.74

This is all going to come down to 1 ball... If Sachin gets a run off this, I dont get it if he doesn't I do....

Well, If it's a dot and Sehwag gets a single I probably won't.

got a couple of quid on Sunderland to beat Liverpool @ 2.80 (which isn't looking great at half time) as well as 2 on there being more than 45 booking points @ 3.10 which is still looking likely.

Will put 4 on Celtic to beat Rangers in the CIS Cup @ 2.05, as I have seen a couple of these games recently and Celtic seem a lot better than their blue friends.

bookings came through in the Sunderland game, while the celtic vs rangers game is 1-1 at the half.
Man City beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season, and are paying 5.50 to do it again, so putting a couple of quid on that.  Also have 4 on more than 45 booking points @ 2.37 and 2 on either Torres, Luiz or Dzeko to score the first goal @ ï¿½4.00

so not a bad day - won the bookings in the Sunderland and Chelsea games, and got a bit lucky with Luiz scoring the first goal in the Chelsea game (the bet I was going for was really Torres or Dzeko to score first, and the inclusion of Luiz just happened to be part of the bundle).  The bookings points are rapidly becoming my new favourite bet.  You tend to get to about the 60th minute with one or two bookings in the game before refs start dishing out yellow cards for everything.

I have heard that Aston Villa are paying 7 to go down, so I was going to put some money on that tonight as they are a shambles at the moment.  Wolves and West Ham are playing well enough to get out of the bottom three (at the moment) so it only needs two of WBA, Blackpool and Blackburn to get some points to mean Villa are f**ked.
