I'm not sure about others on here, but I sometimes just enjoy reading the debates/discussions going on in threads. Surely you'll find you won't be able to follow the discussion if the antagonist is not present for you in the thread. As an idea I don't think it works.
As far as not reading someone's posts, I only tend to not read them if they're either too long (with some exceptions), obviously trying to stir up angst (with tongue not in cheek), or the grammar/spelling is terrible. I appreciate the fact the mods won't stand for text language!
