My right foot is still in recovery since injuring it in the first game of the season on 2nd of April.
Awful tackle on me had the foot buckle under myself and the opposition player, immense pain like I had never had before which was even more surprising when ED Nurse and then my own Doc when I wanted a second opinion said it was just a sprain (my doc even told me to rest it two days and then walk around on it).
Eventually went to the physio a week later who immediately said my foot was screwed and referred me to a sports specialist. This finally resulted in a proper and correct diagnosis after an MRI and CT scan as a Lisfranc ligament tear.
The ligament had actually torn from the bone resulting in the two bones the ligament secured and supported (bones which keep the structure of the foot in place) floating off and doing their own thing. Two plates, two pins and a several screws (nothing to do with a broken penis) we're added to my foot on 5th of May and I was in a cast for 8 weeks.
I'm now in a moonboot which I should be out of in just under a week and then it's lots of physio, no cricket this season (I may be able to play the last month of cricket if everything goes to plan) and the metal comes back out in 12 - 18 months. I should be able to play sport again in about 6-8 months time but I've decided after 32 seasons in a row, it's time to retire from football.
Here's the current view...
