18/2 off nine overs. We're gonna beat the Bangas!!!

These commentator's are well pissing me off. Not the biggest fan of Morrison- Bruce is really pissing me off.

Banga's are batting at less than 3 an over, rather boring, however a good feeling knowing that we are on top. Bit unsure as to why Pigou has been brought back on, thought that the spinners/Southee/Jake were bowling well.

80/3 off 29.

88/5- Deshi's need 7.1 an over. Should (hopefully) have it from here. India pass the follow on with 3 wickets in hand.

Where would we be without Oram.

Three for me, and two for them.

The series is now locked at 1 - 1, what does everyone think about NZ's play and who will win the one day series with the final match soon?

On the topic of Cricket, any die hard cricket fans be heading down for the 4 day cricket matches of there domestic team?

As much as I can I will be heading down to Canterburys and when not there I'll be in Blenhiem or Wellington and so will be trying to get to the basin.

Is 4 day cricket free at the basin, like it is here?

yep it is free, 20/20 and 1-Day you have to pay
Permalink Permalink
over 17 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
Yeah its free, because none of the organizers give a toss so there is no catering or security. And from the few times I've been for a 4-dayer there has't been many specatators. Probably 20-max, its mainly the oldies in the long room.

I wanna go to the long room aswell as the NZ Cricket Museum. From my memories as an 8 year old it was heaven.

And 20?

Are you exaggerating? Here there would be 20 in the morning, building up to around 100+ by the end of the day.

Its kinda sad really that our prem cricket comp gets so few people when its free and good quality cricket Gangsta!2008-10-12 21:25:20

I'd say 20 is a bit optimistic. The basin is right next to my school and at some first-class games their are about 5 people in there...

Yeah, I was exaggerating, about 5 outside on the grass and about 15 in the long room. So 20, but only 5 outside.simon_hampton2008-10-13 07:08:35

Aus are 193/5 with a lead of 263. Should be a tight last day but I'm still going with a draw.

Free? I didn't know that, hmmmm, Basin cricket this summer could give me some good camera practice too. I'm a starter if my shifts allow it.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Watson falls.

Although I'm supporting Australia I keep accidentally celebrating when something good happens for India , then I remind myself I want Austalia to win.Gangsta!2008-10-13 17:14:38

How can anyone support the Australian cricket team? They represent everything that is bad about that country

Because the BCCI represent everything that is bad about world Cricket.

I hate how the bastards destoyed world cricket by using there power to give themselves more $$ at the expense of the performance of teams around the world...

I want one of the players from the ICL to grow some balls and take NZC, ECB, BCCI or another of the cricket boards to court for restraint of trade.Gangsta!2008-10-13 17:44:00

Drawski!

India have no longer got the firepower for the chase... and Aussie have no longer got the firepower to bowl them out... slight edge to India if anything... but not likely...

To me giving this batting line up any kind of even semi doable chase is ricky, if Sehwag comes off for a session and a bit India would win. And you can say that about Tenudulkar, Ganguly, Laxman and Dhoni. Bit to risky for me, especially without a spinner

Yeah but remember bopman the pitch is well f**ked and Aussie will always back their ability with the likes of Lee and Clark charging in on the final day.

Three for me, and two for them.

Time for possibly the worst analogy ever.

If the person you hate most and Some random who had raped your girlfriend were in a fight who would you want too win?

For me I would support for the person I hate.

(For anyone who doesn't get it....Australia is person I hate most, India is the random raper and girlfriend is Cricket teams around the world)

Yeah but Sehwag on a good day will destroy those two and is good enough to effectively take the pitch out of the equation, as is Tendulkar

Should be a great watch - Nothing better than these types of situations.

I would back India - Australia have all of 0 decent spinners.

Yep very true. I just hope it goes right down to the wire because at the moment it doesn't get much better than a good test match between Aussie and India.

Three for me, and two for them.

Anyway, i have to say although i'm a little ashamed to admit it, i quite like Brett Lee now.

Three for me, and two for them.
