Yeah its hard to say that the game has swung back towards the Aussies with a score of 273/8, there have been some big runs scored in the recent past by far lesser lineups than the England batting lineup, the Aussies will have to bowl extremely well.

Yep I'd call that England's day.

Most excellent.

Very unlikely England can win from here. (:

Think the Poms will be gutted as there was a storm across Brisbane with hailstones. Probably thought it might save them. Only stopped play for a short time. Due to restart in 5 mins.

It is not a question of if you are pro the Poms, more of a thing that you are anti Aussie.

Aussies will win the Ashes hopefully.

I'm torn with this series. On the one hand I'm more than happy to see England taken down a peg or two because since they became a force again in world cricket they've regained that horrible smug we-invented-this-game arrogance. But then give the Aussies a whiff of success and they're back sledging, jeering, calling players cowards in the press, and generally displaying all those traits which have made me loathe them for 30 years.

I can live with a smug-Englishman/Saffer in drag.  But that kind of Aussie is utterly intolerable...remember Diego Son?

Not half the expert you are Buffy.

If England's batting wasn't as abysmal as it turned out to be it would've been... there were always going to be overs lost to rain/storms.

Just nowhere near enough to make up for England's piss poor batting.

It's on!

Exactly. Excellent assessment. Next up, Windies in India?

I always hate watching Peter Fulton bat.  It's just such poor technique.

Fulton? Poor technique is the catch cry of the entire lineup sans Watling and Williamson. Taylor gets sucked into the slog sweeps but he is the next best in terms of pure technique.

Poor technique yes... but he still has a * next to his name after one and a half sessions which is pretty important as well. Seriously what was Rudders Jr doing playing that shot in the first session on an (apparently) green track?

I know I'm seriously contemplating not watching the first session tomorrow morning to make sure I don't jinx us any further. That last session today was however fantastic to watch on the box

Just saw the following headline on Stuff "Reason: McCullum has no business leading NZ"

Refuse to click on anything written by that troll, so haven't read it, and won't. But is this guy the biggest troll ever marginally pretending to be a journalist or what?

I'm getting quite sick of the McCullum haters. Yep, he's not perfect... but he is doing his best with a very dodgy back, and I actually think that his field settings etc have been miles ahead of Taylor. Just don't get all the hate for him.

Really odd final sentence to that article
