I know Rutherford hasn't been fantastic, but what on earth does Fulton need to do to be dropped?

Well, a solid innings, by the guy most likely to replace him and getting out on a mostly dead pitch fishing in familiar fashion would go a ways towards it. However, there is the left right hand combination thing, and the fact that when he was on form he did chalk up some fairly decent numbers, and at the moment it hasn't hurt us in this test. Also perhaps throw in some witch doctory about changing a partnership that in the beginning promised to be our best since way way back in the day..

He deserves to be dropped. Been shocking for a long time now.

Three for me, and two for them.

He's an accountant! His website should say it all. Kinda creepy.

Very much so. I have wondered in the past whomhis clients might be, after all he spends 6 months of the year travelling around the world to get on TV.

Loved it when Sky changed their camera angles to make sure he was never on shot . I do feel kind of sorry for him he reminded me of second best traveling all alone in the islands

Williamson got bowled leaving one. The kid's quality, but he needs to push on to a really big score at some point. Still only has a highest test score of 135.

Nice 50 for him (from what I've seen)

Neesham gets his 2nd century in his 2nd test. Top effort! He must think that this test cricket business is too easy.

So he knows a lot of bookmakers then?

Fulton is bloody hopeless.

4/91 is not a bad return on debut for Craig. Making me eat my words about him a little bit.

Interesting call again not to enforce the follow on. With two spinners on a flat pitch I would have done it personally.

1 & 0 isn't exactly the return that Fulton would have been hoping for. Rudders for the 2nd test?

Throw in a dropped catch at second slip just before stumps on day two also.

Yeah I decided not to even mention that one. Watching his dismissal in the 2nd innings is amazing. What was he thinking fishing at a wide one outside off 2nd ball of the innings?

I haven't seen the day 3 highlights yet but I'm assuming "a duck here and I won't have much cricket interrupting my Caribbean holiday!"

I think that on this pitch it was the right call. It is already taking a lot of turn, we have two spinners making the most of it, and we have a propensity to cock up badly in our second innings. I'd rather not risk having to chase, especially if batting is going to get harder. It's not like the last couple of summers here where the pitches have been basically the same on day five as on day one. The way things are set up we can look to be fairly positive, put on 150 and challenge them to get 400 on a turning pitch with increasingly variable bounce.

Anyone got any humble pie? Need to eat a slice for questioning the Craig selection.

Mark Craig smashed a six off the first ever ball that he faced in Tests. What a guy.

Craig absolutely bossing it. 3 wickets for 11 runs so far in the second innings...

Interesting that Sodhi isn't getting a look in. #5 bowler in both innings (assuming he comes on in the 2nd). Would have thought he would have been the first choice spinner, but pretty hard to argue with the results!

Nice to have an away win.  Good job, even against a really poor Windies team.

They are I guess, but still have a number of players (e.g. Gayle, Chanderpaul) who on a given day could take apart any attack in the world. Plus we're talking about the Black Caps here... so I'm going to treasure any test win we get.

Completely.  I was going to add that about Gayle and Chanderpaul myself but ran out of steam.  Reading back, my post seems more negative than it was meant.  I was meaning that despite the knockers (and you can't argue with them really the WI are poor) it is still really good to win away from home.

Great win but in my cynical humourous way, I wonder where were the bookies? Yes I know we won by an excellent performance but....

Take this response with the humour it was intended please.

My attitude on this (and I know you were joking) is to pretend (while I'm actually watching games) that it never happened. Otherwise you second guess everything and can't enjoy the spectacular or unexpected for fear of it not being genuine. Just like someone watching WWF, I'd rather just enjoy the spectacle, but with the added benefit that unlike WWF the vast majority is legitimate.

I know how you feel. It still hurts that the activities of some are ruining a great game for everyone else.
