As an England fan this is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Is this actually happening?

This is the most fun I've had watching cricket in a long long time. Simply amazing.

Interesting that Paddy Power has paid out in the UK on England regaining the Ashes with 9 days of play to go. If this draws and Australia win the next one....

(before anyone says otherwise, how many people expected England to be 2-1 up and thrashing them on day one a month ago)

Absolutely overjoyed to have won the Ashes. There was a time growing up when I didn't think I'd get to see England win the Ashes in my lifetime. This is now the 5th for me and by far the most unexpected.

Amazing turnaround from the 13-14 whitewash, shambolic World Cup and everything else over the last 18 months. I thought we'd get trashed in this series. As much as I tried to stay positive after Lord's I thought we were probably going to lose 4-1 from there. Absolutely stunned that 6 days of cricket later we have the Ashes back. Interesting to see where Australia go from here. Clarke and Rogers gone, surely Haddin and Watson too. Voges too possibly. The Marsh brothers don't look test level players. Could be a very different team for their next series.

Was hoping the 5th test wouldn't be a decider too as I'm off on holiday next week and won't be able to follow much of it.

Wow thats pretty ballsy to do that but then, its not like its really going to offend anyone in this country now. Hilarious.

Not much chat about the Zimmers series. That first hiccup aside we haven't done too bad, especially considering how many front-liners we're missing. And Kane - hopefully not just in the form of his life but blossoming into a very special player...

We ended up being dominated in the first T20 v S.A. after such a promising start with the bat.

So my first experience of online streaming wasn't a roaring success. Couldn't even get on South African crickets website. Did anyone else have issues?

SA Crickets Webby was struggling but I got the stream working via it. Black Caps twitter account tweeted a direct link to the stream for those having issues.

Worked well on the PC for me, but couldn't get it on the IPad unfortunately.

yeah wasn't the greatest quality, they would've underestimated how many would use it. But it was free, put together at the last minute and we wouldn't have got it otherwise. So meh.

Stream was quite good on my phone (S5). Only issue I had was the link wasn't obvious or was nonexistent on the website so someone had to post it in the comments. Stoked I got to watch some anyway. Thanks for nothing sky!

Anyone else been tuning in on Radio Sport, which is syndicating the stream out of South Africa?

Absolutely atrocious banter interspersed every few minutes with commentators awkwardly pushing products from some sharkty online marketplace. The only shining light is Makhaya Ntini, who sounds like he's chewed through a few khat plants before stepping up to the mic.

I've got a bunch of guys wanting to play very social T20 for Onslow this season but we need a few more numbers for the team.

Anyone keen?

Fee's will be about $70 to $100 per person, we will provide gear (not including clothing/shoes).

Games are Saturday's, 2pm and last about 3.5 to 4 hours.

Drop me an email - leigh@onslow.co.nz

...and for those interested in the pink ball trial...

I've been told that the balls goes ok, swings less than the red ball during the day but at night it will swing around corners.

Not too happy with that then, you need consistency surely?

Yup, absolutely. Night was ALWAYS going to cause issues around increased swing due to moisture levels rising & with dew, the ball will get damp as well. I'm hearing it's closer to the white ball than the red ball in the way it performs.

Jeez this Cairns perjury case is brutal. McCullum and now Vettori getting roasted by the sounds. Quite the stain on NZ cricket.

I think there are surprises to come too. Some household names might not be so innocent after all and the crap about being too scared to own up might be just that - crap. I find it hard to believe that only Vincent and allegedly, Cairns are the only two. I wonder if Cairns is even guilty. Vitorie even admitted wanting a diamond instead of cash, I hope that is followed up on.

well we can no doubt add a player who bowled a lot of no balls to that list.

Apart from him I don't think anyone else is going to be named, unless Cairns takes the stand (is he even going to do so?) and starts name dropping.

If however Baza or Vettori did anything they would have been cross examined a little more throughly

Christopher is clearly guilty as sin

Yeah I read the reports every morning and shake my head...a tawdry, sleazy affair ans Cairns is guilty IMO...quite clearly so. He's absolutely trashed his cricketing and personal reputation. The golden boy with feet of clay...

Well there was Cairns, Vincent, three Indian team mates and it seems, Daryl Tuffey. And that's just one team in that comp. The non-ICC competition was a wild west affair in which it seems, anything was possible. A few people got carried away with the possibilities and this is the result: if Cairns comes clean, will he then implicate others? This story could just run and run...
