The one telling sign for me is no Lance Cairns in the press backing his son.

Not. One. Peep.

Absolutely pumped for this test - I'm always "homesick" for Brissy when the first test rolls around; even more so this time with us in it.

We rarely start a series well so I have low expectations but hope we make a good game of it before we storm back into it at the WACA to set up a decider with the pink ball - which I'm sure CA/Ch9 have already decided (lol).

Especially interested to see how KW goes - looking forward to him announcing himself to the West Islanders!

Equally interested to see how SS copes now he's the main man.

Can't wait!

First two tests will be crackers I reckon - third test is going to be a debacle. That ball just isn't up to standard and changes the face of the Test cricket.

Looking forward to the first use of a twilight-watchman though

We have not beaten Australia in Brisbane since 1985. I remember this game as Hadlee  was fantastic.

Temp will be around 30 and will be a tester.

If the ball doesn't swing we struggle. And I don't know how well offies traditionally do in Brisbane...

Spinners can do well in Brissy with bounce rather than turn.

Though Craig is bowling far too many pies to build any sort of pressure. He's all over the place.

This game has DRAW written all over it.

The pitch is a road, rain is scheduled for the next 4 days with heavy rain due early today and midday on Sunday.

No rain this morning, perhaps in the afternoon. Sunday forecast is for the odd shower.

Aussie shouldn't get any swing either but the extra 15kmh will be where the game could go south for us. I do think we play quick bowling a lot better now than we ever have but it's always a hard ask.

Plus it's their home deck and runs on the board is always, always a good way to pile on pressure. I mean we could be 150/0 and still miss the follow on...

How annoying are the Aussie commentators though. I always forget this over winter, and always get a rude shock at the start of the summer.

On the game, Brendon's dismissal was terrible, we'd just lost two wickets and he just throws it away. Really hope that the Williamson/Watling combo works out again, otherwise we're looking at an embarrassing defeat.

Yep, just flicked on only to hear tubby and Mark "mr australia" Nicholas wank on about a magnificent piece of fielding that almost resulted in a run out. Don't worry about the fact he missed the stumps and Kane was in by a metre, seriously. They were still going on about it into the next over.

Not sure what you expect from these guys. They are broadcasting for an Australian TV channel for Australian fans.

That's pretty much exactly what I expect from them.

The fact he's a kiwi aside, Ian Smith is one of the greats as he won't hide the fact he's an NZ supporter BUT has no issue calling the team out and spending time taking up the many merits of the opposition.

Where are we at with human cloning? Can we have a top 6 of Kane Williamsons anytime soon?

If one of him can keep and two can split a few overs, eight will be good.
