Classic Aussie cricketer reaction to being caught on the stump mic swearing about the umpire: "there shouldn't be stump mics".
I can't think of another sports team which so consistently manages to be pricks. It's like being an arrogant, petulant, unsporting fudgetard is the first thing the selectors look for.
People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.
Johnson also said that they would be criticised no matter how they reacted.... Not sure who would criticise them for just taking it on the chin and not saying anything. Other Aussie cricketers maybe?

Well summed up by Peter Fitzsimons, as per usual.
Upset result, wonder what the indian bookies were offering for it and of course what are they now offering for India to win the comp. Well done NZ but anything to do with cricket and India/Pakistan always makes me suspicious.
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
About to select the MVP for our cricket team...thoughts?
Player #1 - 347 runs, 21 wickets, 5 catches
Player #2 - 437 runs, 10 catches
Player #3 - 200 runs, 24 wickets, 6 catches
Aside from the stats can you point to any of the performances being match winning/saving?
i.e. was player 3's 5 wicket haul match winning? Did player 2 save the match with a disciplined 2nd innings 50 in testing conditions?
I think it sometimes needs more than just the numbers - context can be useful.
Based on the numbers though, looks like a close race.

Get over it.

On stats alone, I would say player 1, especially if there aren't many players between 1 & 2 in the runs department.
You can bet on it! :)
Australia will be an interesting game. I think NZ can take it too. Aussie are still trying to find the right formular playerwise.

We can take it, but when teams are trying to find the formula they can be the least predictable and could turn around and spank us, especially if players think their job is on the line.

Think about Guptil's test average without Zimbabwe.
Kane's hundred(s?) in India are worth more than a big score against Zimbabwe.
That said it is possible you are just showing off about how awesome your team is! 3 way split?

Indian cricketers are some of the highest paid sportspeople on the planet. A planet that you're not on at times.

Went with player #1 - wickets were generally important ones, and picked up 22 in the end and all while being the 5th or 6th choice bowler, often doing a partnership breaking job.
Runs from #2 won us a few games that looked shaky for a while but ultimately I worked out that a wicket is worth about 17 runs so #1 wins.
"...sure beats doin' stuff."
Wow that was bad. I felt pretty good at the ten over mark but from there it was all downhill. England strangled us pretty well at the end of the innings but our bowling was just pathetic. Shame it had to end on such a limp note.

That was awesome as an England fan, big win against probably the best team of the
tournament so far. Didn't expect to go through after the loss to West
Indies let alone make the final.
Just shows how quickly things can change in this form of the game. With
Munro and Williamson NZ looked on for close to 200 but only just made
150 once we got them. Worried about a traditional England collapse for a minute after Roy
and Morgan went but we have a strong batting lineup here.
Always enjoy seeing McClenaghan (who I went to school with) get belted too.
Williamson looked bereft of a plan when things started going a bit haywire and the bowlers failed to hit their lengths on a regular basis.
Having played most of the competition on low, slow pitches they were unable to adapt to this surface quickly enough and not enough risks were taken with the bat, relying on those coming in to get into their work from ball one.
Overall, a good performance from England and our first out and out bad performance came at the worst time possible but a ODI WC final, a T20 semi...we can't give them too much of a hard time. This NZ Cricket team is still the best we've had since the early 80s.
"...sure beats doin' stuff."
So let me see if I got this right (& I stand to be corrected) NZ played 5 games in 5 different cities / grounds and England played 5 at the same venue? Not an excuse but fair shake of the ol sausage Tony.
