What 2B said. Also:

1) The test is far from over yet. The 2nd day hasn't even finished yet.

2) They have been in decline for 2 years now. 1 day of cricket does not change that.

Three for me, and two for them.

I can see why you are so pleased, since 1946 we have won only 7 out of 50 matches against Australia.

Pretty juvenile answer.

No, a realistic answer.

Apart from some elements of the sychophantic Australian media everyone paints them as a bunch of priveliged, overpaid, boorish louts and watching antics like Siddel's earlier today merely underlines the point.

I think living in Aussie has made you immune to it leggy.  What is so juvenile about it.

Anyone got any tricks to get a wicket. I think i've used mine up. England need another before stumps.

+1

Have thrown $5 on the poms now. Odds aren't as good as I would have hoped.

How much better is this than ODIs/T20! So much could happen.

BTW leggy thank you for your concerns regarding the language of one of the forum members.  I have assessed the situation, and in this case have decided not to take any action.

Who is everyone? I suggest that it is only the one eyed Kiwis. Funny that the Kiwis that live in Oz don't have your views.

Just the fact that you mentioned all cricket supporters.
you have insite to the millions of Indian supporters, or do you speak for the 200 supporters in NZ.

Your right Leggy, Ponting, Siddle, Watson, Bollinger and Haddin are all fantastic gentlemanly sportsman.

And i'm not anti Aussie at all, I support them in every other sport (other when they are playing NZ obviously), but I just cannot stand their cricket side.

I'm not a cricket freek, but I don't have a problem with Ponting or Watson, and to be honest I can't comment on the other three as I have never bothered to listen to what they have to say.

I know plenty of Australians that think it let alone the kiwi's I know who live there.

Maybe your circle of friends don't but mine certainly do.

You don't have a problem with this?

Just one example that sticks out for Watson. He is known for similar acts.

Or Haddin who watched the ball into the gloves here.

Or the one that gets me is Ponting constantly harping on how they should just have a captains agreement to just ask the fielder if they caught it, while at the same time continually claiming catches that have been grassed (and not just appealing and saying not sure, but actively claiming 100% that it is caught).aitkenmike2010-12-17 22:59:36

None of that is acceptable. But please don't tell me that it is only Australians that behave like that.
The Poms have a few, Kevin P for one. Thats right he is an arrogant S. African. All teams have dick heads.

That point re Ponting asking for a captains agreement on taking the fielders word was bought up by Jonathan Agnew this afternoon after Ponting stood his ground after he feathered that one behind. Its not the same thing I realise but they are similar enough for it to be hypocritical.

While there are still 3-days to go for England to have much a show I think it will need to be over by tomorrow night or early on the 4th day. I just can't see them chasing any more than 350 on this deck.

Amazing how this test and quite likely the whole series was turned on its head in an hours cricket this morning. Johnson was incredible.

Apparently some Internet bookmaker over here when the Poms were 70/0 paid out on bets for England to win the series, Jim Maxwell was saying on ABC this arvo. Seems strange but kind of sums up the feeling of this morning over here. Front page of the paper today has a picture of the four selectors with fried egg photoshopped on their face.

I have his views. 14 years in Oz and I loathe and detest their cricket team as much as I always have. Any right thinking NZer would.

Average 4th innings score in Perth over the past 4 years is in excess of 300 and South Africa chased down 414 here in 2008. It can be done if England have enough self belief.

Three for me, and two for them.

Not to forget Oz's chase in the 4th innings at the WACA against us in 2000. We set them around 450 to win and they got within spitting distance, thanks to Gilchrist and , I think, Waugh. I remember that awful sinking feeling as Gilchrist smashed it all over the park. Even had to turn the radio off for a while because I couldn't bare hearing them snatch victory away from us. Some dodgy umpiring too which maybe cost us the win.

Fantastic series that. We punched well above our weight but oh so nearly took it out.

We would have won had it not been for that Zimbo cunt as umpire. No ifs or buts about it.

True and the South Africa chase is one thing keeping me positive but everyone is agreed that this is a very different WACA deck to the one of recent years.

Are we talking the series where in one test Cairns got 2 absolute plum LBW decisions turned down in the first over only for Australia to on to get a 200+ opening stand?
Permalink Permalink

Yep. They made over 200 for the first wicket twice in two tests. Better memory re Cairns is him almost belting us to victory in the first test. Unfortunately got caught right on the boundary when we only needed about 15 or so.

Aussie out for 309. 390 needed for victory. If they don't lose any wickets tonight they'll be in a good position.

England have been dreadful. Strauss' captaincy has been poor and everything else has just kicked on from there.

Hussey and Johnson have won the test for Aussie. Apart from that they've been very average once again. Johnson won't be the same threat in Melbourne. Hussey can't keep this run going forever.

England needed a kick up the arse, and should make it 2-1 in Melbourne.

Three for me, and two for them.
