He seems unfazed by it all. Seems to think all this and sledging is part of the game.
I think Ponting (and so do most ex cricket big names here)was out of line.
I have always been a tough competitor but could never have behaved like that.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Probably told Ponting that he hit it when he was asked, just to fire him up more.

Its what I would do after I saw him go off like that.

"I had a chance to look at it again last night. I still, in my heart and in my mind, believe that he inside-edged that ball," Ponting told ABC Radio. "I think if you look at the replay properly, in the way that it needs to be looked at, I think everyone will understand that Hot-Spot mark wasn't a long way away from where the ball passed the bat ... but that's irrelevant now. The decision was made and I've got to get on with it now.

Wow.  Ponting is delusional.

If there are any ODI's up in Wellington for this upcoming series I say we the Yellow Fever turn into the Beige Brigade for a day, and do some chants for the Kiwi Lads. Sorta like the Barmy Army, but the rebirth of the mighty Beige Brigade.. Even if its just simple ones like We Love you Black caps, we do etc... but we definitely need to spur on the team.. Thoughts?

Well the MCG was truly truly excellent. Boxing Day at the G was everything i hoped it would be.

As for the cricket itself, im not sure I have seen as dominant a performance by a whole team recently. Not one English bowler took a 5-for, the wickets were shared and the batsmen played their roles wonderfully and batted around Trott.

By about the afternoon of day 2 the radio commentators had come round to my point of view about the manner of Australias victory in Perth as compared to Englands in Adelaide. They got through in Perth off the back of Johnson, Harris, Hussey and Watson. Essentially they managed to paper over some pretty massive cracks. Englands two victories have been team performances with everybody (bar Collingwood) pulling their weight.

Arrived in Sydney this morning, will be interesting to read the Sydney papers and what they say about the selection as compared to the Melbourne papers. One thing I have noticed is that when things get tough over here everyone shrinks back into their state corners. The Victorians are not impressed by the number of New South Welshmen in the team and the lack of Victorians.

I don't live in Auckland and since Wellington wasn't in it, I had zero interest.

McCullum got 204 odd against Pakistan in the 3 day game. good sign for the 1st test!

That is nice then.

What is the bet he will get a duck in the test coming up

England have been dreadful. Strauss' captaincy has been poor and everything else has just kicked on from there.

Hussey and Johnson have won the test for Aussie. Apart from that they've been very average once again. Johnson won't be the same threat in Melbourne. Hussey can't keep this run going forever.

England needed a kick up the arse, and should make it 2-1 in Melbourne.

Damn, all I really wanted out of this test was to see Shane Watson get himself out in the nineties, now there is only one more chance of that happening on a [probabaly] less batsmen friendly surface. I'd rather see him out for 90 something rather than a duck.

What do you want to see over the next four and a bit days at the SCG?

Fuck this stupid game

England win. Or draw at the worst. 2-2 would be a bit naff really.

I'd like to see Tim Bresnan score a 100 too.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yeah, basically I want all round Australian embarrassment but there's a few things in particular I want to see now The Urn is in the bag.

One of the English bowlers to score a heap of runs would have to be one of them.

Fuck this stupid game

Although I want Aus to get hammered I would like Clarke to perform well as a captain. Reasons: He doesn't come across as cocky as most of the aussies do and most of all it would most likely knock Ponting out of the Captaincy..

As much as I hate to say it, when I met him he wasn't actually a bad bugger in person. He'd just been through the whole Bingle thing at that stage and seamed to get along with most of the local people he mingled with quite well. Maybe that was because they weren't paparazzi or woman's mag journos though.

I know what you mean though, he has always been a cheating aussie c**t. And always will be.

You are obviously xenophobic.
Did you have an Aussie bird that dumped you? There has to be a reason that you behave in such a bizarre way.

No. I just hate the Australian cricket team. Bar the odd rose between the thorns that comes through they're all cunts.

Got tickets to sit in the members tomorrow, so amped!

Thought Khawaja looked very very good today. Can see England rolling them for 200 tomorrow although I think par on this deck is about 250. Couldn't believe Clarke saying he wanted to bat, everything screamed bowl to me but I guess they haven't done so bad out of it.

Yes, but I had completely forgotten about it. Agree with him on the ground, completely disagree with him about losing their home ground advantage.
