The South African quicks have been mightily impressive. Especially Philander, what a freak! I expect this SA team to clean out England and take the no1 Test ranking

Ouch. Testicle crushers seem to be a theme of this match

Will Ross Taylor bat one handed if required? He should do Kane batting with one nut!

would be epic to see considering he had surgery to put a pin and plate in his wrist this morning

Really good to see kane get 77 off 193 and 102* off 228 in our last 2 2nd innings.

We really need someone who is difficult to get out, there is no doubting the skill of Taylor, Guptill and McCullum but it seems bowlers still find it easy to dismiss them.

Its great to have someone who can stick around and frustrate the bowlers, Steyn seemed to be getting pretty annoyed at how things were going yesterday.

Agreed, the boy looks good, but don't forget he was dropped twice and possibly caught once but given not out - not sure if that counts as difficult to dismiss!!

Still that was a great result against a fine bowling attack. Did anyone see Smith's arrogant comments about how he wouldn't do a sporting declaration because NZ "didn't deserve it". I have to admit I quite like the SA team but not Smith, that guys a douchebag. I seem to recall Stephen Fleming mentally destroying him on his first tour here as captain... good times.

Also, glad to see Cairnsy won his libel case. This article seems overly harsh on him I thought. It implied he shouldn't have fought to clear his name because it just made more people aware of the accusations. WTF sort of argument is that? People say you are a cheat and you shouldn't hit them up about it?

Kane and Dougy were the heroes yesterday, made it good watching towards the end. Would have been interesting to see how Ross would have batted if he'd had to go in. I think he would have had to face up in a left handed stance because it's much easier batting with your top hand on the bat if you have to bat one handed.

Glad I managed to get a stump yesterday, Kane and Morne and co were pretty keen on getting their hands on them which is rare for a drawn match.

I see Ryder has recovered in time for the IPL.

Speaking of Ryder, my sister was informing me that her boss is the guy who had a go at Ryder in Napier. The next day at work she was fielding call after call from people ringing up to have a go at him.

That guy is a f**kwit, hope he loses business over it. He had no right to have a go at those guys.

I honestly don't know what planet that guy lives on.

'You lost, you should be at home sulking'

He probably expected calls of support from people

Yep, his comeback is just a little too conveniently timed with the IPL for my liking. Don't blame Boam for having a crack.

I told my Mum to abuse the guy next time she in his pub. Doubt she will but I might have a go next time I am home.

Thing is, he said he wanted a break from cricket to sort himself out. I was right behind that. But from what happened over the weekend it doesn't seem like he's 100% ok with the world yet, but still happy to fly to India. Which makes it seem more like he was throwing his toys by not playing for Wgtn, rather than genuinely wanting to sort things out for himself. Which is why I can understand why the Wgtn guys would be a bit p*ssed.
Would I do the same thing though... maybe.

Everyone would.

But you can also understand some of the Firebirds guys annoyance.

Stupid way to react nonetheless, it doesn't exactly help his image and standing with NZC etc.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/cricket/6730379/Florida-start-for-Black-Caps-West-Indies-tourI think this sort of thing is a good initiative, but last time we palyed there the pitch was awful. Doesn't do much to promote the game when its played on low slow wickets

They need to take a groundsman with them

Annoyed the Windies couldn't beat the Aussies today.  Thought the weather might save them but oh no.  Must do better windies
