Does this help?

Over the last couple of days I actually have done almost a complete u-turn. Think when I posted my first post I was a bit f**ked off with Minto because I felt (and still do) that in this particular circumstance the player was being unfairly targeted.

However, I also think that their are times when sports teams should be targeted with protests... The 1981 Springbok tour is a good example.. The Springboks were picked on race, in accordance with apartheid, and thus politics had entered the sport.

The difference between that circumstance and this one, however, is that Peer is not picked for the tournament because of her race or for any other political reason - she just happens to be Israeli.

If that is the source for your argument then you probably have done yourself a disservice. Has it come down to a personal cheap shot?

The difference being that Maori team is not the NZ national team.

Why not? To be a Maori All Black you have to be of Maori decent to qualify.

Many of your views are exactly the kind of crap you can expect to hear on Newstalk ZB, I heard my Grandparents spouting similar sh*t 2 days ago and they are devotees.

But please could you explain to us what a sickness or unemployment benefit recipient looks like? Far to often on here you spout sh*t like that but then when someone calls you on it you go missing, so come on put some substance behind the crap!

Yes, because it represents Maori people of New Zealand. It does not represent New Zealand. And that's the crucial difference.

But you said something on here (the equivalent of ringing up).  So a number of people want to know what a sickness and unemployment beneficiary looks like.

I think you are missing our point. i.e. that you've grouped together sickness and unemployed benecifies as looking the same.  When in fact they are not.

I'm actually curious, can you show me the clips LG?

I'm not against protests against national sports teams, but I don't think this is a good one. I'm extremely for the cause behind it (trying to stop Israeli crimes), but not this particular course of action.

This is one individual lady. She is really playing as more of an individual than a 'nation'. If it was a Davis Cup tie, a protest would be more warranted. I mean, what do they think this lady is going to do? Sit at home, never travel and not be a professional tennsi player because of Israeli crimes? That's not going to achieve anything for anyone, except stuff her life up. Usually different for a National sporting team. Also, the protests against this girl coming here can seem like a personal attack on her. So a tactically bad protest me thinks.
