Tonight whilst preparing a dinner consisting of crumbed fish, salad and chips, I was put in the unfortunate position of not having enough chips left in the bag that was open to meet my requirements so I was forced to open another packet.

Upon doing this I realised that, to achieve a portion size that was acceptable and befitting of my appetite, I would be forced to mix both straight cut and crinkle cut chips from both Watties and McCains.

Up yours frozen chip manufacturers!!!

were the cooking times of the two varieties similar or did you have to eat a mixture of over cooked and undercooked  chips ?

Now that is life on the edge.

Would it be acceptable to apply this same concept to standard Ready Salted chips with "thin" Ready Salted chips?

Obviously there should be no mixing of flavours in the single bowl, that's just taking it a bit too far off the edge.

I do not subscribe to conventional cooking times when it comes to frozen chips nor do I believe in any form of segregation, whether it be race, colour, religion or brand.

All frozen chiips are created equal in my opinion although McCains, Watties, Pams etc will have you believe otherwise

Everybody knows that mixing flavours in a bowl is actually quite a hair raising experience but mixing them in the same bag is potentially catastrophic
