God I love Coast FM. Today in the car I heard Mary Hopkin singing "Knock Knock Who's There?"

I told Jnrette that as kids we used to sing "Knock knock, who's there? Someone in their underwear. Take off your clothes and come inside"

So many giggles back then.

Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh!!!! Frustrated that the Arctic Monkeys haven't announced a NZ show after announcing, 2 festival shows in Oz and also a series of concerts with Miles Kane, a couple months ago!! I may need to shell out to go to Sydney, but if I do, then they may come here, if I don't may miss them... Mini rant over

If everyone else on this thread is allowed to make up bands I don't see why I can't.

Read this morning in Obscure Music Weekly (available in a number of obscure places) that Anal Bleaching have split up.  This is a sad day for fans of classical grunge folk.

Big Day Out announcements happening now (and in the morning with headliners) so far: Best Coast, Foster and the People, Cage the Elephant, Girl Talk, Gin Wigmore and David Dallas. Looking a bit like Laneway atm, but there are always bands like these.

Indeed.  That's food for thought.

Coldplay 5 out on monday, I'm hoping the whole album isn't exactly like the two singles that have been released so far. I'm hoping they go back to their Rush of Blood to the Head sound, but I don't think it will happen.

Went to Glasvegas last night - very, very decent.  First time I had been to Koko (in Camden) - stunning place, that is well worth a visit for anyone wanting to go to a "gig" (I believe that is what the young folk call it) in London

Another thing, I fell in love with the Glasvegas drummer, and later found out it was a girl (which made me feel a lot less confused).  She stands up (which was why I feel in love originally) and she doesn't hit the drums, she smashes the f**k out of them.

Anyone else listened to Mylo Xyloto, the new Coldplay album? I got it yesterday, and am really enjoying it. It's very different to the old sound that Coldplay had and that I love, but I like how they have progressed. Plus Brian Eno makes any album sound awesome.

Definitely agree there Patrick, Brian Eno did a bit of work with JAMES a few years back, recording two albums simultaneously, one of structured songs (Laid), the other in the next studio which was pure improvisation & jamming sessions(Wah Wah). Some wierd stuff & some absolute classics. Well worth a listen

So recently I have been getting all nostalgic like and dredging up my mainstream music from the 70s-80s: fleetwood mac and pink floyd mostly. A bit of dire straits.
Still never fully decided if dark side of the moon was better than the wall. prob dsotm. Rumours over tusk and making movies a clear winner for dire straits.
