Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Freedom of speech.

He shouldn't have it.  He's completely retarded.  Can't stand having to listen to that guy.

I just sent him an email.  I asked him if he really listens to himself when he talks.  I'm suspecting a "I fade in and out" reply (yes, shamelessly stolen quote).

I love Rugby but anyone having a go at the ref is a f**king moron much like the NZRU and Michael Laws. Especially Michael Laws.

All he does is alienate himself from the 75% of people in this country who don't give a rats arse about the game

Is funny how that got no media coverage at all basically. Yet one person throws a bottle at a nix game, and they run segments comparing it to football hooliganism in the UK.

Just an ongoing observation..

Campbell covered it tonight, I felt so Un-New Zealander that I hadn't thought to vilify someone for his committment to making rugby better for those playing it.

I promise to do better in the future.

How's this for an idea...

Someone who has connections with NZF should arrange for Mr Laws to receive a Complementary Ticket to the AW's match in Wellington in November and offer to pay his transport and accommodation + give him a little spending money for the evening as well!!!

See if he accepts...

Its not so much an anti-football comment as it is a rugby idiot comment. Though sometimes the two seem to cross into a grey area

Dear Mr Laws,

I am a New Zealander, I love the place, it's Image and most of the people. I say most because there are a small minority of people who I despise and you, sir, are one of them.

Now don't get me wrong, I like Rugby, hell, I love Rugby. But what you have written has little to do with the smoke screen you hide behind (Rugby) and a whole lot to do with your small-minded, racist and xenophobic personality.

To suggest that an immigrant is any less of a New Zealander because they don't like Rugby is mind-blowingly stupid and incredibly racist.

All the bullsh*t you have spouted does is fuel more hate for your little minority of racist f**kwits to feed off. It's a sad reflection on our country when a government official - an elected one no less - writes a column in the Newspaper stating that Kiwi's with asian ancestory are not "true" New Zealanders because there has never been an All Black with Asian ancestory.

Perhaps at the next election we should change the criteria to include "must have an ancestory which has produced an All Black."

Yours sincerely

Daniel Jourdain

Michael,

Just writing to thankyou for clearing up something that has been troubling me for quite some time now. You see, I have been having somewhat of an identity crisis and after reading your article in the Sunday Star Times on the weekend I have finally worked out just what has been bugging me for all these years. I am not actually a New Zealander because I dislike and dismiss rugby on a quite regular basis!

I suppose this means that I will never become a "great New Zealander" but that sits comfortably with me because if you are a shining example of what it means to be a true New Zealander then I thank my lucky f**king stars that I was born Australian!!!

Regards,

Ian

Michael

I do wonder, do you listen to yourself when you talk?  This comment about people who don't like rugby not being NZers is pathetic.  Ryan Nelsen, most famous NZ football player called All Blacks vs Wallabies game a 'yawn', Matthew Ridge called Rugby as 'boring as batsh!t', while David Lange, who you of all people should respect, was not a fan of Rugby at all.

NZ has been described as the 'hermit kingdom' in the past.  And by the way, we have hundreds of thousands of immigrants from countries who don't care about rugby (mainly footballing nations) so comments like these don't help with integration at all.

I never really listened to anything you said in the past, but from now on I most certainly will just shrug all you say off as complete non-sensical rubbish.

Good day to you,
Ryan

Note:  The comment about Nelsen, Lange, Ridge and that hermit kingdom thing - no idea if they're true, just what previous posters said.
