This thread is designed to name the worst possible stand-up comedian that you could think of. Obviously, they shouldn't already be a comedian.

Yeah but it's unlikely that it will be funny whatever the women here do to me. More Kim Wilde than Oscar Wilde.

You can't teach an old dogma new tricks - Dorothy Parker

His mother should have thrown him out and kept the stork - Mae West

Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain - Lily Tomlin

3 quick witted and humorous females who all must have been
prescient since spoke about FT years ago...

and like any of you wd have thrown
Kim Wilde out of bed even if her music was lame. And mock if you will but Kim Wilde holds the record for being the most-charted British solo female act of the 1980s, with seventeen UK Top 40 hit singles throughout the decade; and late in her career she wrote most of her own songs so can't be entirely unliterary

Oscar Wilde on the other hand while being humorous tho somewhat pithy at times led a life of choices that saw him spend many year imprisoned, exiled, reviled by his countrymen,  banned frm his family and dying an early death close to pauperism

that there are some funny females and some crap ones. but Dorothy Pareker always had a great way with words. And that saying we meer females are more Kim Wilde than Oscar Wilde might only be an insult in your mind

I guess I got confused when you implied that Kim Wilde was better than Oscar Wilde because she'd sold lots of records, while Oscar was sent to jail for being a homo. That threw me, tbh!

But I didn't actually say that now did I.  I said K.Wilde wasn't quite as inept as FT implied and that O.Wilde made a history out of constantly making bad choices and flaunting things he knew wd get him into trouble plus alientating his friends etc - that kind of out weighs his literary talent. I think its really sad he lived such a hard life and was so 'supposedly' miserable the last five years of it
