If there was ever any wonder why League will always remain a minority sport, this is why.

Three for me, and two for them.

Apparently, the former CEO of the Storm (can remember his name), who was heavily involved at the time, is the CEO of the new Melb Rebels Super 15 franchise.  He is expected to be sacked by lunchtime today.

im wondering which players will stay at the storm next season or jump ship to another team or code

interesting point some guy on the footy show made about the large maori/islander population living in melbourne following the storm and how they may be disillusioned with the team and leave them to support the new melbourne s15 franchise

no - he's an "on" not an "om" and I'm fairly confident he doesn't come from the 'nui

Waldron does a regular spot every Friday on a Melbourne sports radio station. He's a smug, smarmy, anti-sokkah, anti-Collingwood sh*t.

Couldn't be happier.

Waldron has offered his resignation from the Rebels, and the board has accepted it.

quite a cunning 'marquee system' they used in their fraud.

I think they should operate on a reduced salary cap for a few yrs as punishment, their big earners will be off elsewhere at the end of the yr. At least when the doggies broke the salary cap, their players showed loyalty and stuck around, I cannot see this lot doing that.

First chance to comment on this... This is massive. The income they will lose and then the players they will lose will be huge. No one will go to their games now. Serves them right. Hope the Warriors can spank them this weekend.

I reckon they are a potential banana skin now though, with nothing to play for they can play with nothing to lose. And that means they could score a few tries against teams.

Cameron Smith: "Craig, how are we supposed to go out there every week and know no matter how hard we try, we won't have any points at the end of the year?"

Bellamy: "I don't know. I'll ring Ricky Stuart and ask him".

Three for me, and two for them.

Word on the street is that Slater will leave at the end of the season for the Warriors (last part may not be true).

If Slater goes to the Warriors I will almost... ALMOST... stop supporting them.

He's incredible regardless of what people say.  And he's not a dickhead because of his skills (like, say, Ronaldo). loyalgunner2010-04-24 00:09:26

He's a dickhead because he's a dickhead. Some dickheads are blessed with good skills.

And the ability to throw ridiculous passes in RLWC finals.

Funny you say that, prominent AFL Player Manager Ricky Nixon was on Melbourne radio on Saturday saying that a few AFL clubs have been monitoring Slater for a while.

With the current stuff going on, there is talk that a few AFL clubs will make a $1 million per year move for Slater. Ricky Nixon said that Slater would be able to play AFL "better than Karmichael Hunt" and that "If Gold Coast AFL side paid Karmichael Hunt $750,000 p.a. to switch, then Billy Slater is worth $1 million per year".

Greg Inglis is another Storm player that has been mentioned as a possible AFL target also.

The Storm boys regularly train with Richmond in the AFL last I heard, and I understand Sydney and Brisbane (AFL versions) regularly train with local NRL clubs as well.
