I was more thinking people who have a disibility that is classes S1 - S3 play 7 a side, where as D1-D4 play 5 a side. Thats Just an example - I dont know what the different classes mean except for my brother has cerebal palsy and is classed S1.

It could be the total amount of limbs permissable per 11 player team...?

paraolympics? I know its awesome for those that get to compete, but is there any coverage of it at all? I caught the little bit the TVNZ showed on the news of the opening ceromony which look great, but I doubt we'll see/hear much until after the end.

They should have blind soccer- don't larf its a real thing- Brazil invented it- there is a sighted keeper and a ball with a bell- its about close control-more of an individual game than a passing game
And is it true they let that funny looking kid sing the opening song this time?
ok, im going to hell too

In Blind Soccer is the ref blind like in normal soccer?
Three for me, and two for them.

Thing is, our disabled athletes will win a lot more medals than the 180 strong "normal" athletes that just got junketed last month. (With some exceptions of course).
Perhaps Queen Bee might have stood a better chance at these Olympics??

I had to laugh tonight, I was at my sisters having tead and they showed a wheel chair race on the sports news. There was a big crash in the last 100 meters. My sister says, "Ouch that's gotta hurt" And I said "no way, they all paralysed from the waste down, they wouldn't feel it!".
I know thats in bad taste but there's also an element of truth in it too. I did feel sorry for the lady who was ankle tapped and missed out on a medal.

Think this one goes under the 'Sad but true' file. Nice one LG.

What about them re-running the race?? Whats with that. Just because they had a big crash. Thats sport. Whats worse is that they had a medal ceremony and have now said the medal winners have to give back their medals.
If there was a big crash on the last lap of Bathurst that took out the leading cars, do you think they would rerun the race??? I don't think so.

Whats really bad about these para-olympics is the bannign of an irish 7 a side footy player becuase he wasn't impaired enough. He has cerebal palsy and has trained for years to control it so he can play footy, and the white coats are like nope you're too good to have cerebal palsy.

Coverage of these games is incredibly hard to find (TVNZ
) so I have given up any hope of possibly trying to follow them. However, in a quick check of the medal table. NZ's medal haul stands at 3-2-2 which puts us in 20th place.

Prof, that is disgusting. The guy is suffering enough without them throwing the ball back at him so to speak. If he was Chinese would they complain about his status then??
Well in the normal Olympics the yanks dropped the battens in the relays, I reckon they should replay those races too!

5-aside must have been the blind footy. 7-a-side was for players with cerebral palsy (great goal celebrations, by the way)
