are people excited about this?

I read all the talk about comparing it to Tua v cameron but it doesn't seem to compare to me

I was so excited before that fight and thought Cameron would win..... How wrong i was

Here you have 2 fighters in their primes. Can't see Fa winning this

I'm really looking forward to it.

it has the chance to be a massive bout - but could also be the same result as tua v cameron.

I think the hype around the tua v cameron fight was more about the personalities, both fighters had good followings, and if you liked one you didnt rate the other. Form mine Cameron was always out matched in that fight, he was a blown up cruiserweight who had been beating up on average fighters. Once he got hit by Tua he was poked.

Parker v Fa has the makings of a better fight, both actual heavyweights used to being hit hard and not scared to come forward, they have a history which adds some spice. Heaps on the line for both, Parker wins and he gets back in front of the top fighters across all organisations, if he loses its a tough road back to the top 10. For Fa, he wins and he gets a massive boost in rankings, currently 5th. Not such a big loss if he loses as he is as yet unbeaten and 1 loss isnt disastrous.

This fight should definatly be the better fight,   i think the cameron v Tua thing went on for years which helped build it up aswell

glad it free here in Japan to watch but go Parker

I really hope the news I have heard from an informed source ain't true.

Would be really sad if it is.

I know nothing about it, but the article says "The man, in his 30s, has denied possessing and importing methamphetamine",

Parker is 29

Fa is 31

So why not charge him if they think he is,   i agree with him that it will become trial by media, when he hasn't been proven to have done anything.  Maybe explains why he been a bit flat as of late

The name suppression goes back over 2 years now. Again innocent until proven guilty, but Stuff have rightly raised some questions around how the Police handled this case. Why have they never taken possession of Parker's phone, if he has nothing to hide? What is his relationship with the men found guilty?

Is some serious issues around the handling of this case.

He was not charged due to insufficient evidence. What that means is that they had something but not enough to get a conviction. He may well be innocent and these guys were just "cashing in" on his name. Like that's never been done before. He might know them  socially for various reasons but he and his PR team need to get on top of this before it destroys his career, reputation etc. Even if he was not involved he needs to address it. Silence will just create speculation.

From the reporting it appears there was a case for Police to take his cell phone, and/or issue a search warrant. Does look strange they did neither.

The Force does still have an image problem in some sectors of the South Auckland community, being seen as primarily a white pakeha/palagi institution. Laying charges against Parker a local hero to many, and even seeing him doing prison time, rightly or wrongly would not help that image.

Could some senior figures in the Police, have made sure that Parker wasn't charged? That's the rumour that will continue to whiff around this saga.

What hasn't been divulged is Parker's connection to the 3 guys found guilty. We all tend to know what our close mates are up to employment wise!

Is these guys were close friends of Parker, is bound to raise questions (esp given the social media messages) as they were seeking to launder cash between the US & NZ. Parker being a frequent visitor to the US. The Police only checking 1 month's worth (think I have that right) of Parker's bank statements has raised questions.

i mean one of the witnesses saw him taking something

Well if true, he wouldn't be anywhere near the first rich boxer or sportsman, to put a few grams of Colombian marching powder or whatever, under their broken snoz.

Personally I'm pretty relaxed about any personal dug use accusations. But anyone found guilty of involvement in trafficking/selling meth, even be that money laundering, deserves jail time. Insidious evil drug, fudgeing up society.
