Obviously we're all football fans, but are you currently or have been playing other sports (serious or social) apart from football?
I am currently playing volleyball & have been for the last 25yrs. I use to play at club level.

And it's boring and takes ages.
I play football, and used to play indoor netball, league (just with friends), and swimming.
I'd be interested in playing some Gaelic Football. It's similar to Aussie Rules I think.

I currently play Football, Lacrosse and hopefully Cricket. Used to play Netball, Touch, Field Hockey, Rugby and was a handy gymnast supposedly, looking at getting back into that one at a very casual level for strength and conditioning.

Batting is pretty straight-forward, you just have to watch the ball, and have decent hand-eye co-ordination. There are a few technical things involved as well, but since I don't think you'll be looking to play at a highish level no need to worry about that now.
Being a decent bowler (one who who doesn't bowl a sh*tload of wides and gets hit for 5 sixes in an over) is a bit more difficult and needs a bit more practice.
Fielding is the most boring part of the game for me, and probably the reason I'm not playing anymore.

Fielding is the best part of the game. Then Bowling, then Batting

Batting's easy when you're facing flogs, but it becomes a nightmare when you're up against someone who knows what they're doing. Embarrassing even.

Played alot of Squash when I was younger, played at bit of mixed netball last year. Did swimming when I was at school and tennis. Gave hockey a crack a few years ago too. Started playing cricket when I was about 7, right through until end of high school then only started up again last season. Silver Arrow2008-08-12 11:32:29

Surfing, training for my first fun run at end of the year, the obligatory football (summer & winter), and just played my first game of waterpolo this weekend. Seriously suggest to anyone who wants allround fitness, though is reasonable aggressive.
All in a social capacity, and I'm not that young anymore, so all at a fairly low level!

Rainman who you playing polo for? I'm keen to get back in to it, played for Canterbury in highschool but haven't been in the pool for near on 5 years

Haha, as usual, nothing serious, playing a social league with my local surfclub.
Gotta learn the mantra *claps hands and uses best cheerleading voice in the office* "Be aggressive, be, be aggresive!"
At the mo I'm a bit too standoffish (especially against the ladiiiies), I think I just need to get punched or elbowed, then I'll fire up and get ruthless
It's both easier(basic skills) and harder (fitness) to play than I thought...
