Plus 1.             Pretty sure JB was the manager of Bournemouth when they  were in Auckland.

Yeah John Bond was quintessentially the 70's footy manager for me. It was also pretty sad seeing how old Paul Power looked with the tributes.

Former Chelsea and Man United manager Dave Sexton. He was appointed by Bertie Mee in 1966 to be Arsenal 1st team coach and in a couple of books I've read by Frank McLintock and Peter Storey, it was Sexton who basically ran the team and not Mee. He was regarded as a visionary back then and McLintock and Storey say he was one of the best coaches they ever worked under.

RIP.

Sven Hassel - I never read any of his books but my brother did and loved them, the covers were something out of this world. A mystery geezer as some said he never fought for the Nazi's against the Russians but Sven then produced documents that suggest he was a tank commander and did win his x2 iron crosses.

I looked on his wiki page and I must have read most of his books (not that I can remember any of the details).

Real sad.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Ravi Shankar. He heavily influenced George and the rest of the Beatles, who in turn helped shape modern pop/rock/blues music and gave artists the ability to write their own songs (even when many many many shouldn't). His death leaves a pretty large void in the musical world.

But apparently diagnosed with lung cancer a few months back, that's why he wasn't on Channel 9 commentary team this season.

Yeah that - heard Chapelli saying they gave him a few months but all signs were positive following that until his ticker gave it up.

Mike Singleton - The guy who wrote The Lords of Midnight and Doomdark's Revenge those fantastic games for the ZX Spectrum. Strategy mixed with RPG elements. Many Games today doff a cap in Mike's direction,. He died a few months ago and I missed it as he was not very famous.

Great characters such as  Farflame the Dragon Lord, Utarg of Utarg, Thormand the Fey... Just amazing games for the times. Truly a giant of the Golden age of Home Computers.

Gordon Mooney.

Drycleaner to NZ Football and anyone/everyone in Auckland football.

Mr Gordy used to run a drycleaners just off Dominion Road in Auckland where he converted one whole room to a Football Kingz shrine.  He was the Kingz Mad Butcher, always talking the club, always in the middle of Bloc 5 and a lover of the game in New Zealand.  Ventured off to the 2003 Confeds cup and followed the Kingz and All Whites all over the country and into Aus.

A great supporter of NZ Football.

I think he featured once on Miles Davis and Martin Devlins show House of Football on Sky a few years back. Like you say, he was like the Kingz version of the Mad Butcher.
