I'd construct a poem but that would be better from his brother

Savage's match with Steamboat at WMIII remains one of the best performances in history.

Have been watching funny old wrestling footage half the day and man brings back memories

The Nix shd have a family fun home game day where they pick something like wrestling (or zombie day) then let parents in at kids prices if accompanied by kids and dressed appropriately. 
You cd have wrestling as half time entertainment even or blow up wrestling in the fat sumo suits set up on the concourse. The YF zone has enough oddballs to make one colorful lycra sight and they wdn't even need to take shirts off for the lads

Perhaps even just everyone dressing up in a set theme for one pre determined game. Maybe then the club would notice and start something official.

WWF came as a huge dollop of enjoyment following a big gap from the local On The Mat to the slick hyped event that WWF morphed into.
 
Randy Savage (cool name) and Ulitmate Warrior were icons of that time.
 
For me part of the fun was the incredible level of parody that it went to (sublte postmodern irony even perhaps?) and how it was probably lost on the audience who lined Vince McMahon's pockets.  Brilliant.  Here's an interesting intro into that concept (using the later WWE): http://mitcmsprowrestling.blogspot.com/2007/05/parody-in-wwe.html Real vaudeville/melodrama type entertainment.
 
Oh yes, and steroid abused men pounding the sh!t out of each other while wearing colourful tights.   That was fun to watch as well.

Not to mention seeing their trashy trailer park girlfriends king hit ea other and whack people with chairs while always chewing gum... ahh memories. lol maybe the pre-mentioned female football hoons watched a little too much wrestling in their childhood

RIP Andy Marshall, the incredibly talented musician and all round GC from Christchurch who has killed in Aussie recently.

No amount of people being locked up for killing him will ever come close to bringing him back.

The WWf in the 80's was fun and some decent wrestling. Now days it's all talk and glitter with very little actual wrestling.

I will tell you something that is scary. My mum and sister were playing some sort of scrabble game on there iphones and my mum spelt the word dead. And 30 mins later we got a phone call saying her mother had passed away.

RIP Philomen Gulland, the woman who was killed in the explosion in Akld on Sat. She was one of our clients who I have met a few times. Her colleague, who lost both legs in the explosion, is our direct contact for to the company. It hits home the dangers of my job in which I occasionally enter very similar working environments.

yes very sad, we deal with watercare services regularly at our company so was very sad news.

RIP Roy Skelton, the actor who voiced Doctor Who's arch rivals the Daleks as well as puppets George and Zippy in the TV show Rainbow, has died aged 79.

One night we were playing in Asbury Park. I'd heard The Bruce Springsteen Band was nearby at a club called The Student Prince and on a break between sets I walked over there. sad news - I had my photo in the Wellingtonian with him when I was home many years ago and there was an article on him not being able to use the amp (or something like that).  I had just stopped to chat with him and got papped (well, got caught up with him getting papped).  From memory, I think Dave Batty was in the photo as well.

I thought she died about 5 years ago and her manager was just parading her around "Weekend at Bernies" style...

Although I don't have any of her records, she could sing, her voice was powerful and individual and she could write songs too, although I found Rehab a bit cringworthy.
 
She sort of reminded me of Dusty Springfield or Helen Shapiro, which is not a bad thing.
 
Hopefully though her death helps the world get a step closer to ending this weird view that killing yourself via drugs and alcohol is somehow cool if you are a music star/film star.

She was certainly different. Shame she couldn't turn her life around and get off the drugs. What is it about singers dying at the age of 27.
