Not sure Blind Date for me reached the ironic contrast of tragedy and comedy as found in Voltaire's Candide but I can certainly see where you are coming from....

I was mates at school with a guy who murdered someone. After that, I wasn't his friend. Funny how that works and how you can't see the future when you make a few mates.

What has that got to do with anything?
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
For every fawning remembrance for our Cilla there are plenty of (non celeb) people talking about what a bitch she was. Apparently banned from BA for a while because she was such a pain in the ass to the staff.
All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Don't think he ever reached his full potential, should have had a lot more success on the big screen but I don't think the British studios knew what to do with him.

Great muscian and talented in the literary sense too. His mum had a book shop on Dominion Road and excuse the pun but he was well versed. I believe he was quoting Tennison in the days leading up to the heart attack. RIP. If only the American dream had caught on. I heard on the radio tonight that when they went o the states, the companies had it down to a two horse race. Hello Sailor or that two hit wonder group called The Knack.

Yes an extremely tough individual and excellent captain. Got diddled out of the England captaincy by the " old school tie " brigade in 1968: getting shafted by the powers that be wasn't a new experience for Closey in his England career. A boy prodigy: capped at 18 v NZ in 1949, and played football for Arsenal and Bradford Park Avenue I think. Should have had a better test cricket career, but picked and dropped repeatedly...
