I was impressed with the AB's to lose like that in a game of 16 V 15, they did well to hold the French to such a close score.

Can you imagine if the French had lost?? The games in France would have died instantly with few attending.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

The sad thing is how busy Woman's Refuge and the suicide hotlines will be today.

Hopefully now NZer's other achievers will get some recognition, instead of the collective media orgasm over rugby. Don't get me wrong, I love the oval game (although not as much as football) but I'm sick of how NZ's other high achievers in any field are completely irrelevent compared to the achievements (or lack thereof) of the All Blacks.

Even Deaker said we're obsessed with the RWC.

Three for me, and two for them.

Scotland Vs France final ,Mcfadden drop kick to win it in the last minute!!
Dean Barker is still sailing round in circles somewhere off the Portuguese coast as MCcaw crys into his Stein lager in Cardiff ,  thank goodness for the fabulous Phoenix ,they will save sport in NZ single handedly!!

Rang up my mate, this was the conversation:

"Did you see the score?"

"Yeah 4-0 to Man U"

"No, the other score"

"Yeah 1-0 to Villa"

"No the All Blacks"

"When did they play"

"They lost!"

"Haha! Go the Nix!"

Whatever else it was - it was a boring game with all that pick and go crap.

One good thing to come out of it - the topic of conversation at work on Monday isn't going to be "I see that the Phoenix lost again"

Real world cup kicks off next weekend at Albany!

Important for NZ that we progress further than Fiji in at least one world cup

No we weren't the best team in 91, 95 or 03. Only one team was out there actually trying to put together phases and constructive moves and that was the All Blacks. France was just kick and hope and in the end it won the game for them. All i can say is i hope Argentina win it now.

What, so now you want a team that doesn't try to score tries to win?
The ABs were absolutely horrible - the way I look at it, they had 72% possession, 64% territory, had to make only 36 tackles in contrast to France's 176, and still managed to score fewer points than their opponents. In my eyes, that certainly doesn't make them the 'best' team.

We did it to ourselves.

Yes the Ref was a plonker but we were tactically very poor. A drop goal at the end would have sorted it but we just ran into the French time after time.

No vision - no brains.

Surely the rugby public will realise now that the overwhelming hype and expectation actually detract from our performance and that tests played outside the world cup say nothing about the opposition.

Oh well...

It's called arrogance.

We thought we were so much better than the frogs that we could just rumble over for a try at the end. We had 30 phases of absolutely nothing, going absolutely nowhere and it bit us on the arse.

Then we had ran out of ideas we tried a daft drop goal from halfway.

Three for me, and two for them.

The ref missed a forward pass for the French try but he also missed one for one of our tries so no problems there. I have no issues with the sin binning, I looked at it quite a few times and it was intentional (he dropped his shoulder just as contact was made).

Apparently according to the Psychologists comming out of the woodwork we are all in mourning and need to grieve (what a crock of crap) .

It will be interesting to see how SPARC approach this as I believe they provide a fair amount of funding to Rugby as a whole. Based on their prior cutting of funds to non peforming sports then there should be a big cut for Rugby next year (bet you it doesn't happen though)

The French crowd were in good voice.

Maybe the AB's fans need to learn some new chants other than "Allll Blaaacks" - might've lifted them a bit.

agreed Teza, I'm not in mourning!, i just make sure i 'm not grinning to widely when i'm out in public

not sure what the neighbours made of me and my boy going wild when the frogs scored!

(I mean i don't particularly like the nuke laden froggies , but the NZRFU makes me puke)

The NZRFU coming out a day later and going on about the implications for finances and sponsorship show how out of touch they are. They run the AB's like a business and have sucked all of the passion out of it.

Jerry Collins was interviewed after the press-conference about the rotation system and said that if thats what his "employer" wanted then thats what he would do - FFS "employer."

Frank Bunce on TV3's roundup last night said the French had "out-passioned" the AB's - no-one wants to hear that - but they did.

Passion in All Black rugby has been dying for years due to the NZRFU and on the 7th Oct 2007 it finally died and was buried. RIP.

If you are right Barca (and i think you are),  and the NZRFU is screwing the passion/life out of rugby in this country, then i might just start to think a little better of them

See, that's interesting... that number started at 500 when I first heard it and has since gone to 1000, 2000 and 3000...  someone should offer them free tickets to the next North Harbour match as that would triple their average crowd.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite

Less than a 100 turned up at the Auckland airport (according to TV3). The reporter asked a little one if he wanted to be an All Choker, and he said no, I wanna be a firefighter.
Classic.

Psht. My kid is gonna want to be an All White

Actually, I'll support my kid no matter what lifestyle choices they want to make, even if that means playing for the All Blacks. That, or a Wallaby, at least they get outplayed rather than choking!
