How would you youngsters feel about having to stay in some form of education until you are 18 if Labour policy is succesfully introduced?

Because you are all super clever YF fans, am I right in thinking that this might not have particularly large impact on many of you folks, anyway?HarryHotspur2008-01-30 14:26:42

If not going to tertiary, further education courses anyway, possibly that their employers offer training opportunities.

Video of HCs speech on TV3 NEWs website, but not until at least 10 mins in until details revealed.

That's kinda stupid. Gap years illegal and stuff?

I can understand making it until the end of 7th form (or equivalent).

I'm sure gap years post Year 13 will be fine.

Isn't it common policy now across both major parties after Key trumped Clarke with his announcement?

I think it looks like all you wee scallys will be at school/apprenticeship/uni/something-that-isn't-on-the-streets until you're 18.

Yeah they do that sort of thing in Germany but it doesn't necessarily have to be in the army. People work in old folks homes and hospitals and other government funded places.
I think everyone should work at least a year in hospo!

no americans say "grade" doofus.

Science is great! I hated science in school, didn't do it 5th, 6th or 7th form, I've just started doing one of my extramural papers which is something like Science for Health Professionals and its about microorganisms and lots of other exciting little creatures and I'm freaking loving it.
Go science! woo! (don't hurt me)

My degree and post grad stuff were in science. Great fun. Go on you budding scientists

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
