I live (thankfully) south of South Auckland and I'd say it was pretty spot on!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I was sent another but on the knowledge I'd definately get banned on here, I've not posted it. But to be honest, I did laugh when I read it. No, it wasn't about any of the crimes of late.

That's when you PM me it...

...though it might be more effective for me  if you replaced "South Auckland" with "Eastern Metro Vancouver"

I don't see it as racist, there are people of european descent in South Auckland and most of them are as bad as anyone else.

I can only say that having worked in a few different cities and countries... only once did I get a call from the police saying lock the doors and keep all staff onsite until advised further... followed by seeing the AOS cruising round with their guns n stuff at the ready...

And no, it wasn't South London lol

It isn't racist. It is like saying all Essex girls are trashy chavs.

Course it aint racist. 'Area-ist" or "District-ist" certainly but stretching things a bit to say it's racist.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Something that pissed me off from this article...

Rawiri Falwasser's mother, Kihi, said the verdict showed there was racism in the justice system. "It proves we live in a black-and-white world.

"We are absolutely shocked and devastated by the decision but we're not surprised. We had a white jury in there."

That last statement....is very racist in itself...Im not being racist when i say this but...Imagine if a white guy went and said "Im not surprised by the verdict as we had a black jury in there"

He'd be shot...

Allegedly

Agreed. The only racism there is her own. Not so much for what would happen if tables were turned, but because she painted all pakeha with the same brush.

I'm white. Heck, I'm originally from Australia, which doesn't have a very good reputation on the issue. I also don't give a damn about your skin colour, I give a damn about whether your son did it or not.

Racism - Is it really a colour thing or is it an attitude thing? Me, I judge a person on their attitude, not their skin colour.

Don't worry, that doesn't qualify you as racist   To me, racism is making discriminatory or unfair judgements based on a persons ethnicity, without taking into account other factors of that person.

Though it does get dodgy if you say something like 'he's a stupid maori', even if you mean them as two descriptors, as in he's stupid and he's maori.
