Which cheek did you get it on?
Right quad.
well the ideas in my head are now being put onto paper by my tattoo artist, i have approached some of the players and they are happy for me to use their images in the tattoo, it is going to be a rather dark tattoo as i am not really into nice friendly pc tattoos. the players are asking for the pictures and updates and are looking forward to seeing the finished art work.

Please be Cleberson and George...
the tattoo is slowly taking shape 3 of the players are going to be demons which in my eyes are the demons in my head supporting a football club that are not always the best or most successful club. the other 2 players are going to be almost angelic but not quite and this is to signify the good times that you get when the team gel and play good football. my artist still has a month before my first appointment so still has not shown me any of the finished pictures.
sorry c-diddy cleberson and george do not feature.
Spot what is wrong with this picture....or did someone lose a very big bet?
off to see tristan smith at inksmiths in wanganui this afternoon to get my left butt cheek tattooed. do not have a picture or design drawn up and have decided to wing it and give him artistic license. he is a very good free hand artist who can visualize a piece of work and just tattoo without stencils. he specializes in traditional maori and samoan art work.
Anyone going to the Wellington Tattoo Convention next month?
I'm getting tattooed there on the Sunday - they will also be selling beer and food.
What's not to like?

started my phoenix tattoo on thursday and have an appointment every 2 weeks for the next 3 months, may have to add more appointments to get it finished as it is a large piece of work. i may or may not post some pictures when the tattoo is further along.

There's probably someone out there with Kingz / Knights tatts
So I'm prepared for all the hassles for my LFC tattoo but here it is anyway, completed on Sunday by Mick Squires @ The Wellington Tattoo Convention.
Picture is from moments after he finished to quite raw and angry but you get the idea.
my partner was in wellington on the weekend but not the tattoo convention. i was telling her about your tattoo and she goes i saw it the guy walked past us while we were in town. then i gave her a look at the picture and she was a no it was not that one it was on the back of another guys calf she was not sure if it was a phoenix or a liver bird, but it was fresh as well and he had one of his trouser legs rolled up which made it stand out.

How much did that cost? Excellent shading and detail.

It was expensive as the dude had travelled from Melbourne - about $1,000
I love the top one mate - awesome
i wish mine would be finished by then but looking more like christmas time for me, the faces of demonised players take about 4 hours each and then there is going to be all the gap filling items, i booked in 20 hours thinking that would finish it but now looks to be at least 35 to 40 hours.
i love the tattoo studio , the smells the noise of the guns working and the feeling of pain as the needles go in and out of your skin thousands of times over the hours it is kind of my happy place and i am going to be slightly disappointed when i finish my full body suit by the end of next year. the other thing i will miss is the banter you have with your artist when you spend so many hours with them.

This reminded me of my mates tattoo that he had to honour the 96 from Hillsbrough
Thinking of going under the needle again. I want something representing my family. Once my second child is born and we work out a name I was thinking of getting my wife's and two kids names tattooed on my arm all interlinked but not sure how (maybe something like in a crossword puzzle)...

just be aware that as you age the ink in your tattoo spreads a little and if you get writing too small it kind of merges together and can be hard to read, did this myself when i was younger and now you cannot read some of the writing on a couple of my tattoos.
Thanks for the feedback. To be honest that's one of the reasons why I haven't done it yet. I have fairly large tattoo on my chest which after 14+ years is holding up well (could do with a colour touch up)
...but definitely keen to get some writing that's going to keep well for many years to come
they always take longer than you think and big is good.
Drawings look good hopefully final coloring's and tattoo look as good, bit bigger than i thought but WTF.
this fella was supposed to be my angelic part of the tattoo but as things turned out he ended up being another of the demons.

some of my older art is 30+ years old and is still very clear there is a little spreading of the ink in places but it is the words that have suffered the most some you can still read but the smaller ones i got when much younger are now very much fudgeed.
Another session down most of the outline done next up shading and starting to get color on. With any luck might coincide with us winning some games
All right, after 15 years, I think it's time for tattoo #2.
Can anyone recommend a good tattoo artist for a fairly basic tattoo idea?
I would like a minimalist design, 5-7 images in squares or similar.
Still thinking about final design, but I've got the gist of it in my head.
Also, should I choose to get #3 done as well - any suggestions for tattoos representing your family (eg wife and kids)? I was thinking of a beautiful tree with my and my wife's initials in the roots and my kids' initials as the fruit...but I'm not very creative when it comes to this stuff...
cannot help with wellington artists sorry , on the first page of this topic are some suggestions people put out there when i was asking about artists in wellington.
most tattoo artists will happily draw up a picture from the ideas in your head and then you can see it on paper and make any changes to get it the way you want it before it is in your skin.
Thanks for that. I actually sketched something myself (it looks like a 3 year old did it) so I'll bring it over when I meet them.
How does it work for consultations? Do you pay X per hour of consultation/prep work or is there usually a flat fee?
