Stuff is thrown all over my lounge I'm so disappointed. Great match though, I like Novak, I hope you guys can see that Murray is actually awesome even though he didn't quite come through.....

Yep, the best player came through.
Murray isn't, hasn't and never will be a better player than Djokovic.

This is how we handle our frustration after such events.

How can you say Murray has never been better than Djokovic when Murray beat him for ages and was ranked ahead of him for ages??? FFS. Idiot comment. Of course Murray is ranked below Djokovic currently (the number 1 in the world), but man that game could have gone anyway.

Meanwhile. I've been seeing this girl a bit that I met last Saturday, and she's in my bed and I'm too angry still about this match to go to bed.

Wonder if Andy would have won if he didn't use all his challenges? 2 calls were called wrong against him at crucial times at the end....

Enough said. My "idiot comment" makes you look pretty stupid Colvinator when you look at the facts.

If Murray was in the women's draw he could be world number 1 though.

I just took exception to you saying Murray has never been better than Djokovic. Well, he did beat him 3 times in a row, and was ranked ahead of him during that period. Murray is basically at now where Djokovic was a couple of years ago. Right up there, but not quite going all the way. Anyway, it was obvious that there's not much between the 2. Djokovic was obviously scared, given he was pulling out all the faking injury rubbish.

The 5 setter last night against the background of Nadal having an extra day rest certainly won't help Djokovic.

Okay fair enough but Novak was far from his peak back then, he has improved a lot since - not that Murray hasn't - but he's currently a far better player than Murray even though he made it look tough last night. It's Murray at his peak and Djokovic in a lull. And Murray still lost.

I don't see Murray ever being better than Novak unless Novak drops significantly in form over a long period.

He was fatigued in his game against Ferrer and looked to be struggling last night a bit too. It happens, particularly in Melbourne. He would be the last person to fake an injury or even complain about it let alone use it as an excuse.

Clearly you're a passionate Murray fan, hats off to you it must be a tough ride, but you can't really compare these two until Murray wins something.

Agreed that Djokovic over the last 12 months is better than Murray. Well, he's been better than everyone in the world. Last night was 100% better from Murray than last years capitulation versus Djokovic. I really don't think that was Murray's peak. Well, the way he played in the second set was, but he was a bit inconsistent, and think he can get more consistent (similar to the path of Djokovic). Who knows though what way it will head...

Djokovic certainly wasn't injured in the 4th or 5th sets. I liked Djokovic's call in the post-match interview. They asked how he got the energy, he said, from energy drinks, water, and a banana.

For years, Djokovic has been known as a bit of an injury faker. It's debatable, but I'm fairly sure I've seen him pike out through 'injuries' before. But it's impossible to substantiate. Don't forget that Djokovic has had a lot of mental problems as well in his career. For Murray, winning just one major will make such a difference for him in this regard.

Yea, I'm obviously a big Murray fan. Scottish. I've though he was a genius, and called it very early in his career. It is a tough, tough ride alright !! I accept that the words I'd use to describe Murray are a big stretch considering he hasn't won a grand slam, but would definitely argue that he is 'up there' with those guys, even if slightly behind. At the very least, there's the top 3, Murray, then the rest.

Oh well, my consolation is that it's still really amazing to have a Scottish guy up there at such a top level in tennis.

"When Andy Murray wins, he's a BRITISH tennis player but when he loses he's an indirect tesselated insect vibration queen. Hypocrites."

Pick for the final? I'm going to have to go for Rafa, extra rest, looks in better shape, the type who'll just run Novak ragged if he's not 100%

I'll say Rafa in 4. Novak just looks tired. Think it'll take an almighty effort to beat Rafa though.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yeah I want to put money on Novak but he's looked buggered in his last two games and will need to lift massively to beat Rafa. Really wish Federer beat Nadal, I could handle Novak losing to Federer but not Nadal.

You know what Novak I did like 30 pressups today, so I know you're tired, but lets not go on and on eh?

When I heard it was 6 hours, I assumed it was something like 7-6 6-7 6-4 4-6 17-15.

The game was obviously amazing, but the time in between points must have been excrutiating.

Not really. Just lots of long rallys and games that went to deuce.

Probably the best tennis match i have ever watched, and yes i watched Nadal-Federer Wimbledon 08.

Three for me, and two for them.

Watched Federer v Djokovic this morning, not the greatest game, although that's more a credit to Federer than anything else.

Murray unfortunately looking good, can he do it? I'm 50-50 at the moment, but I'm definitely cheering for Fed, 1 more slam would be fantastic.

Same old Murray! Fed really stepped it up those last two sets, Murray was playing at the same level the whole time basically, just getting the ball back, once Federer cut out all the unforced errors it was just routine. Glad for him, 17, phenomenal.

yes. New coach is a very canny selection.

Australian Open is possibly to early but by the time it rolls around to Flushing Meadows this might be the year Murray (and by extension GB) finally gets a Grand Slam tournament win.

I really want to like Andy Murray but there seems to be something holding me back. Can't quite put my finger on it though

I'm with you on this one. Never liked him. No rational reason for it, just never have.

Thank goodness there is tennis to take my mind off my football team.  I reckon Djokovic is going to win the title.
