I think Federer to win Australian and Wimbledon, Nadal to win French. Maybe an outsider to win the US. Davydenko potentially..

Big tennis follower myself, up in Auckland at the moment so will go along to the Heineken Open. I think Henin or Serena will win the AO and Federer or Davydenko to win the mens side. Federers lost this morning to Davydenko doesn't mean anything in regards to his form.wellyphoenixfan2010-01-09 21:28:34

NZs two top tennis players (Statham and King-Turner) draw each other in the first round and are playing each other now. Strange coincidence.

Made a $100 bet with a mate two years ago that Murray would win a major in the next 3 years (that was when he was ranked outside top 20). Pretty Gutted I haven't won the bet yet really. Still got a good chance of winning one this year though.

Please let Nadal win nothing! The Spanish love tennis- but no way would I want that Madridista to win anything.

I quite like Nadal, sorry Kun . Also quite like JMDP.

I'll be happy if Murray fails again, especially when 'Murraymania' rolls around during Wimbledon

I'd rather Nadal win than Fed. Fed is arrogant, and a bad loser. He constantly shows next to no respect for many of the other players on tour. And a crybaby. Of course he's one of the greatest ever players though.

For the record, I like Tsonga and Monfils. Djokovic is my favourite of the very 'top' dogs, although he has been a bit average in recent times and hence may not qualify as one.

Fed is pure class. Nadal should stop 'grunting', wearing ridiculous clothes and liking Real Madrid!

I find both Federer and Nadal incredibly boring - there is barely an ounce of character between them. Hence I find it hard to like either of them and I generally support anyone playing against them (with the exception of Murray - what can I say, I love seeing the British lose).

I couldn't have said it better myself, I really do despise Federer for all of the above reasons. God he is good though.

When Federer told an Umpire last year to shut up and that it was him time to talk I almost threw things at the television

He is not as arrogant as you make out, especially compared to other players on the tour. Also in recent times he is no where near as arrogant. The only player he has no real respect for on the mens tour would be Djokovic because he shows no respect to any other player. Murray sometimes too. Both of who are far more arrogant than he is.

The bad side of Federer has come out more in the last year or two with him losing a bit more than he was (still not that much unfortunately!). Unfortunately for some reason he doesn't get court violations when he goes on swearing / abusive tirades against Umpires. He has been a real bad sport on a few occasions, refusing to shake the Umpires hand a couple of different times, and crying right through Nadal's victory ceremony last year.

Now, Murray is Scottish. Obviously this is part of Britain though. Arsenal says he loves seeing British lose. Do you also boo Welsh / Northern Irish people and teams? Maybe, but I think that's rather unfair to lump all those countries together. I assume the main reason people go against Murray is because of the English (or British as you say) media... ? I can understand that sentiment, but I'm pretty sure Murray hates media rubbish more than you do, and possibly even more than I do.

The way he jumps around screaming and acting like a brat after certain points or sets. The way he flexes his biceps when he wins. The way Murraymania goes to his head. He has a disgraceful attitude. Then again he is Scottish.

Ok, he is flamboyant on the court. Unfortunately, he seems to have toned it down a bit. Do you support any Football players that jump around or scream?!?? Not sure what acting like a brat entails. He doesn't break as many rackets as Federer does anyway!

I haven't seen much to show Murraymania going to his head. He's acted pretty similar whether the media have hated him or liked him.
