Afternoon All

I am fortunate enough to own a 26 Foot Yacht based out of the Seaview Marina, and sail it for fun. It is by no means fast but it is a good solid boat pretty well suited to Wellington and sailing a little further afield, Marlborough Sounds etc.

I try and get out for a sail in the Harbour most Sunday Mornings and hope to get out one night during the week.

If anyone is keen on coming out for a sail, I am happy to have extras on board. It is nothing to strenuous and I have everything on board that need (apart from any refreshments you may like) and no experience is necessary.

I can comfortably take 3 out and would be happy to have some fellow feverites on board.

BWTCF and LG are keen, although Brandon may find the pace of my Boat a little slower than what he is used to!

Anyone keen, let me know and we can arrange something from there.

Nice. What's she called?

I've recently become a boat owner and keep my trailer boat on the hard at Seaview. No sails though.

I'd be keen to come out for a blat sometime.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Given it is 12 pubs this sunday will probably  look at Sunday week as the first trip. Let me know if that suits.

Permalink Permalink

I am definitely keen Jeff. I can't race a tthe moment with my broken collar bone. I am gagging for a sail.

Not this Sunday though - 12 pubs instead.

You know, sometimes people offer to organise things because they want to be nice to people who are interested.

Several people asked about sailing, because despite you not being interested in it Banzai, they were interested.

Jeff, very kindly, has made his yacht available, and has offered to take people who ARE interested out sailing.

So, we understand you don't like sailing. That's okay. How about you butt out then?

Sometimes a bit of banter can be humourous, but sometimes it just pisses people off. Sometimes when people get pissed off they think "You know what? I don't need this negativity! It's making me upset, and I have better things to do with my time." And they stop offering to do things for other people.

I recently flew to Perth. There is an active supporters group there. They have a facebook page which they all post to and it's very popular. At the pub before the game I asked them why they don't post in the yellow fever forums. Not INSTEAD of the facebook group, but AS WELL AS it...

...their response, to parphrase, was that they used to participate in the YF forums, but the negativity and abuse from people who were not interested in supporting the positive things people were doing annoyed them and put them off. I think it is really sad that passionate Nix fans no longer come to these forum pages and no longer contribute because they have had negative experiences being abused or witnessing negative posts and abuse.

So maybe you're just having a laugh? Maybe it amuses you to be abusive and negative. That's your right.

But please, stop and have a think that your behaviour might very well be turning people away from these forums. I really hope that you do NOT want that. If you do then we have a much more significant divergence of opinion than I thought.

Chill dude...I just really hate the America's Cup/boat shoes...but out of here faster than a winward port tack towards a starboard jibe...

This is relevant to my interests.

Would you fly a flag of the Nix variety?

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Can we see a Jolly Roger flag? I love the sea and I like boats but this would be my maiden voyage on a sail craft so I am looking forward to learning something new and skills if something can be arranged. And i love boat fishing (subtle hint to anyone with a boat).

A week out the forecast  looks pretty promising for a Sunday Morning  sail. Depart Seaview about 9 return around 12.

Who is in ? Probably  3 is a good number.
