The commentators were saying that he told one of the trainers that its over, and he is done, and they were speculating he might need another knee op. They also said that they had to go get his wife, cuz how upset he was.

Berrigan to the Warriors
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
what position will he be used in do you think? for Hull he was being played at hooker alot.
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
They will have him and Heremaia as there hookers. Not a bad partnership  NHpeter2011-01-01 22:56:15

And he'll join our 97 players who can fill in at centre

Steve Price book? That he released not long ago?

Where it has him on the front cover in his 4 different teams he has played for. Aussie, Maroons, Dogs, and the Warriors.

Any one know where I can get that from?

Correct me if I am wrong about this as I am a little confused.

Steve Price, Be Your Best

It's a revised edition of the one with his face on the cover released in 2008. You can get it most places. Trademe, MightyApe, Fish Pond

I'm unconvinced that we'll see Berrigan coming to the Warriors - especially if his Twitter account has any merit to it.

I think he might end up with the Titans.

Good!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Truth be told, I can see both the benefits and the drawbacks of signing a highly experienced - but ageing - former rep player on a short term contract.
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Berrigan will fit in pretty nicely.

He's been a fairly durable player throughout his career IIRC and can actually play centre/hooker. We could do worse than having him in the centres.

This season again starts with so much optimism, but the times the Warriors have been given premiership hype, they've gone on and flopped - badly.

That being said, 2010 was one of the Warriors most consistent seasons - they went about their work without a lot of fanfare, and in the end (as it transpired) was the double-edged sword of the McIntyre system that saw us celebrating Mad Monday rather than preparing for a Preliminary Final at Mount Smart.

Roosters not looking at giving Anasta a new deal for next year. Not saying the Warriors should go for him, as he is vastly over rated in my opinion, but what interests me is this part of the article:

"An intermediary acting for Anasta approached Parramatta, who have more than $500,000 still available under the salary cap for this season. However, it's understood the Eels passed on the offer to the lock forward for either 2011 or 2012 and beyond."

Who did the Eels lose to have so much cap available?

Inu/Matteo/Tahu really must have been on a lot.

It's not so much about who they've lost, but also about who they've recruited.  Take out the likes of Inu, Mateo, Tahu, Cayless, and Grothe, (as well as a few players on smaller contracts), and bring in players past their prime like Webb, Whatuira, McGuire, and a few youngsters, it's no wonder they have plenty of cap space - re-signings of Moi Moi, Burt, Horo and Mortimer notwithstanding.

I agree that we shouldn't chase Anasta, for the record.  Our back row stocks are all full.

Superb effort from Tony Trim [who is an average joe who paid $14,600 to play] finishing off a Freddy Fitler kick for the corner.

It's a QLD flood charity match and he donated $14,600 in return for a spot in the Blues team. Good on him I say.

That was superb.

Loved Trim, the Fruit n Veg guy, facing off with big Gordy! lol

Tony Trim didn't look that bad, the big guy who paid to play for the Maroons was complete cack, he had hands like feet! He looked like he'd rather have spent his cash on pies.

No Costigan this season.  Always sad when people get fired, but he was absolutely hopeless.

Anyways, his replacement:

You do have to wonder...
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Is that really his replacement?

He normally just does the Pre show.
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Sad to see Costigan go.  He got a bad wrap from many, but he was a good commentator nonetheless.

I haven't heard any of McIvor's calls, so I hope he's less biased than his blog - which, of course, one would expect to be biased as it's on a Vodafone website.

McIvor was commentating on the Under 20's games last year. He wasn't that bad.

was an annoying end throwing away a 10 point lead in 3 mins but the day was more about the west coast community than the result itself. good stuff

Most beautiful city, eh? Hmmm. No comment.

Don't think I'll make it. Even worse, I can't get down to the ROF on Sunday either.
