Just saw on TV3 nightline some suit headbutt a hippy in the octogon.

So stupid, sad and amusing all at once.

(the hippy seemed unharmed)

I used to go to "Aunty Sue's" takeaways after school and play Frogger (as did most of the school)

"In the short term, the area will be landscaped with plants, pohutukawa trees and seating."

I thought Pohutukawa trees are protected once planted? How is that temporary?

Fuck this stupid game

Just been reading about GP's throwing people of their lists. I had this not long ago as I'd not been ill enough to go to my GP for about 5 years so my surgery wanted me off their books.

Sorry Doctor but I'll just pile on 30kg shall I, take up smoking again, and try and drink more?

Apparantly though it's not the Docs, (I can believe this), fault but Practice Managers and Admin staff.

A question for you film buffs.

In Peter Jackson's film "Braindead" Lionel's mother hosts a lunch for what I had thought was the head of the "Wellington Women's Welfare League".

However I see that on the interweb there is reference to the Wellington LADIES Welfare League and there even is a band formed in that name.  Still I have remembered it as WWWL not WLWL and so I'm wondering if it was subsequently changed for possible legal reasons.

I will probably have to get out a DVD of the original to find this out, but can anyone else confirm which name was used in the film?

So this new Durex ad - do you think they chose an aria from "The Magic Flute" on purpose?

Just watching "I shouldn't be alive" which is about two Canterbury post-grads getting stranded in the S Alps for 10 days before being rescued.

Then googled a herald article on it - the TV version is somewhat different from the newspaper (minor details but still rather annoying).

If the tv show was to be believed, what was a experienced mountaineer doing leading a virtual novice up a 200m rock face without ropes, helmet & other important climbing gear?

Angry guy on the train that delayed us getting away by accusing a ticket inspector of being dishonest. He thought that she allowed some people "free rides" whilst he had to pay.
Why didn't you express your concerns when you were sat on the train rather than when you got off at the station?

He was middle aged and angry so I can sympathise, we get wound up easily, but he came across as a bit of a tit.

I was also not impressed by the Train Manager's conflict resolution skills, she did nothing to calm the situation or resolve anything. I'd been interested in what training they give front line staff as I've found it's usually ranges from surly to dismissive with Tranzmetro.

Also I never found out if the ticket inspector had been dishonest...

NZ as the top tourist deathtrap????  Hmm...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Friend has been out of work for a while. Got a job, roughly 20hours a week,, which is four days on then four off, paid fortnightly. So pay not the same each pay day.
Still some benefits apply. WINZ averaged the hours over an eight week period. Sorted.
IRD - for tax credits - only recognise actual hours worked in a period.
So at the moment she is worse off than when out of work.
Then she has to pay secondary tax as the benefits are regarded as primary income.
Tricky.
Hmm.

Got the bus to/from Uni today. It became something of, I guess, a 'social experience'...
On the way in it was near full. Peace shattered by a guy shouting "f***** give him a seat" folllowed by more of the same about how frustrated he felt about it.  I think an older passenger had got on and not been offered a seat.

Then on the return the driver was in a state. Yelling, in separate incidents, at three passengers, one for using the bell and wanting to get off,  then not stopping for one really surprised pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing....

When I got off...  he left the door open and shouted at me 'thank you, thank you'....

Hmm....

studylink finally rang me today as to why they havent paid my fees. Here is the conversation:

 KC = me
SLOW = Study link operator woman (You will also see this is an accurate acronym)

 KC - "Hello"
SLOW - "Hi, We need you to send your 2nd semester results so we can confirm you passed 50% of your courses last year before we pay your fees"
KC - "You have my 1st semester results saying I passed my FOUR papers?"
 SLOW - "Yes"
KC - "You also have information that I studied FOUR papers in the 2nd semester I assume?"
 SLOW - "Yes"
KC - "So from that information, you can confirm that I must have passed at least 50% of my papers last year..."
 SLOW - "I don't understand" Tegal2012-03-19 12:02:15
