RUBBUSH!! Unions create a more stable, productive workforce. Check out work by, say, Professor Harley Shaiken of the University of California-Berkeley. turkiye2012-02-29 22:17:53

Next? Union leader walks off a cliff and all union members follow like sheep, because they wouldn't know any different. I'm sick of being told it's impossible to earn a living wage and that there's no jobs out there. SICK OF IT.

Thing that pisses me off...   attacking welfare...

What part of the correlation between slashing welfare and corresponding rise in third world diseases in children does this government not understand?

This could go on for a while. I used to be a union delegate for NDU but I left not long after the NDU strike and following Progressive lockout. Union officials drive around in nothing older than 2010 model cars can I tell you and union fees go up proportionally with wage increases. They are a sham. I'll take my welfare comments into your new thread.

Yes, Unions definetly have worth. There is plenty of evidence out there to support that. However there are also examples of unions overstepping the mark. I've also personally had experience of unions trying to stir up perfectly happy workers into striking, so they can gain subscriptions.

It goes both ways. People like you can be pretty one-eyed when it comes to unions etc.

I don't quite understand this. The judge says himself you can get 2 years in jail for a single burglary, why then does he let him off with 13 burglaries.

Home detention is pretty popular these days. I guess because of overcrowding prisons.

i realize you cannot send everyone to prison but burglars need to be put away to stop them ripping our homes off.

Locking myself out of the house and missing the first hour of the Nix match tonight.

Good result though.

Good point. Both turned out to be good results. I managed to get back in without breaking any windows, my keys were about 2m away from my kitchen window which was luckily off the latch. It only opens a few inches but I was able to make a hook out of an old broom handle and some fencing wire and use it to grab the keys off the counter. It would have been hilarious to watch I'm sure.

He admits he didn't check Telecom's data roaming charges but believed the company failed in its "duty of care".
bollocks, anyone who travels knows the roaming costs will be high, it's on your head if you choose not to check the costs.

What a drop kick. It's expensive enough to use mobile data in NZ. I note comments have been closed on the story, obviously he wasn't getting a lot of sympathy.

Agreed:
1) He's an idiot
2) Roaming fees are even more extortionate that our regular mobile charges.

Yeah, the roaming costs are prohibitively high, but no-one forces you to use them. The roaming charges for different countries are easily accessible through your mobile provider before you leave. Furthermore, iPhone's default setting is for roaming to be switched off, so this guy had to switch it on - at which point he should have had a message from his iPhone warning him that roaming is expensive. And finally, he gets a warning text from Telecom telling him that roaming charges are higher than usual ones, and he still doesn't check how high they are, and proceeds to heap up another $1000 worth of charges.

And after all this, he has the gumption to complain?

Wake up to seeing Perth Glory beat CCM last night and move ahead of us in the table on goals scored.

Then get to train station and the train is 10 minutes late then doesn't move from the station for another 3 minutes making me late for my dentist appointment and late for work!

It's not up to him to privatise it, it's up to the Auckland City Council.

On that note,
People who work (inefficiently compared to competition) 26 hours a week and earn an average of $65000 yr. Then have a whinge and hold our largest city to ransom because they've been asked to work 40 hours like the rest of the world.timmymadden2012-03-12 17:22:44
