Looking at it, it looks like the appeal is over him getting parole or the equivalent after 1/3rd of the sentence, rather than him appealing his conviction. So at current time he has "done his time" and has to be allowed to continue with his life.

Now the other side of that is the law/courts:

1) HOW was his sentence only 22yrs

2) HOW was someone who committed such a violent crime allowed out after just 1/3rd of the given sentence.

I feel like there is a similar issue in NZ where certain violent crimes don't get the length of sentence they deserve, and then the majority of those committing them are eligble for parole as well.

So have seen further articles with more details, he has been released based on not getting a speedy trial for his appeal, has been waiting 7yrs for that.

Landlord giving us notice as he's decided to sell. Be annoying to have to move just to rent again, so going to look into whether buying is an option but it's probably not a possibility for us.

Chorus finally due to turn up to scope fibre install tomorrow too after months of waiting. May aswell cancel that now. No point me getting it done for someone else's benefit just to get to use it for a month or 2 then end up moving somewhere else and having to go back to ADSL again. Landlord or next buyer can sort it out themselves later on if they want it.

I think that's the point. They're funded by advertising.

There's nothing inherently wrong with being a whore - prostitute is a legal profession in our country and a legitimate job.

I also think you just compared me (or someone else here)  to Tony Veitch, which is possibly one of the most offensive things that I've ever read on these forums.

I misunderstood then. What did you mean? It's just you specifically mentioned Tratts personal problems and your frustration that people don't give out information, so I assumed you were frustrated that nobody would tell you what his personal problems were.

Personally, I'm curious as to what they are, especially since it's meant we lost a very good and promising young fullback (which aren't easy to come by). But I also understand that his personal problems should probably remain personal.
