Jetski's.

Are they the most obnoxious, inconsiderate, unneccesary way to enjoy the water?

Fudgeing scalpers.  I reported the second one. I don't mind if someone can't make the game and resells at face value. But $200 for a $95 ticket pisses me off. I hope no one buys them

Yeah I reported one too. Checked the seller''s other listings and surprise! Tickets to a sold out gig. Douchebags.

On my one, I read the questions and his answers, quite obvious he is a scalper. I have no conscience in reporting him. I hope he gets stuck with the tickets.

I'd hate to think what that other scalping group - Viagogo, are selling theirs for. Probably $1,200

I see that second auction is still open despit being reported.  Good news is that there have been no bids.. trade me should have blocked him and left him stuck with them.

Just found this and it mentions that wanker I reported.

"For the vast majority of events, people are allowed to on-sell legitimate tickets, so Trade Me's position is that we have always allowed them to be sold. If our sellers have the tickets in their possession they're able to sell the on Trade Me."

"Heaps" of tickets were sold on Trade Me for bargain prices and it was a great way for some people to make a bit of money back if their plans changed and they could not attend.

"For us it's a balancing act - we think it sucks if genuine fans aren't getting their mitts on tickets when they are made available, for whatever reason. However, on the flipside, Trade Me provides fans who missed out with an alternative avenue for getting along to an event in a pure and transparent market."

People trying to scalp tickets were "taking a bit of a punt", Duffy said, when the event hasn't even sold out yet.

"At the end of the day these are trades between a willing buyer and a willing seller and the prices are simply market forces at work."

Trade me don't really care about people being ripped off.  But ticketek surely have to do something about this.  There are some genuine cases of people buying tickets and then getting better seats or whatever so that I understand but it's the blatant scalpers.  Dunno how they escape karma.

Are people getting ripped off? As far as the trademe auctions go it’s a mutual exchange of goods for money.

The buyer is purchasing the ticket(s) at a price they’re willing to pay.

The seller is selling tickets at a price they’re willing to sell them for.

Unless it's declared a major event under the MEM Act (which it wasn't), there's fudge all Trade Me or anyone else can do about resellers; or the price at which they're reselling at... the market will decide value.

Surely it should qualify under the MEM Act

Regardless,  nothing shall stand in the way of making a profit.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Just took a study break for lunch and watched the highlights from the home leg of the last WC play-off which was a massive mistake. FOMO through the roof.

A private number trying to call me 4 times today while I was unable to answer at work, and not leaving a message. Important enough to try 4 times but not important enough to leave me a way to return the call. I expect it was probably just spam but still makes me curious.
