Does anyone else think this has been blown out of proportion now?  OK, he cheated on his wife which was an immoral thing to do and something I don't condone but he wouldn't be the first sportsman to do this.

How come he has come under the microscope so much when at the end of the day, its not even a criminal offence yet Rene Ranger can assault a guy and leave him unconscious outside a pub and hardly anyone seems to care. He'll go to court and should rightly be charged yet I bet it will all be blown over in a few weeks.

I think it wouldn't be as much of an up roar if was for example John Daly. But Tiger built his image and made his Billions on his pristine image.

ANd his ability to play Golf really well...like you know, the best player in the history of the game. But yeah its the not cheating on his wife thing that made him his billions.

Talent gets you so far. People admiring you for that talent takes you a whole lot further. He very carefully stayed away from the stereotype of great american athlete driving a flashy car and dating big busted trashy ladies and leading a rock star lifestyle. He cultivated the image of wholesome natural humble lad with a sweet wife so its makes it more of a betrayal to the people who truly admired him as someone worthy of having god given skills. He wd have had a totally different kind of sponsership arrangment if right from the start he had played party king.

And it doesnt herlp that a cpl of the ladies were repeats who had been assured by him that they were the ones. Drunken one night stands esp whn you have gorgeous woman thrusting themsleves upon you is quite diff from running a stream of mistresses

yea but people admiring you for a talent is different than people admiring you for your personal life is different. it still doesnt change the fact he is the greatest golfer in history, thats how he made his money. your saying that people cant admire his talent because of his personal life, which isnt so logical. gossip mags are evil :p

No I'm saying that he used his image of good wholesome family man to get extra sponshership and people feel betrayed. Personally I think cheating is sucky and the sign of a weak man so wether he is good at sports or anything else like had  a nobel prize I'd still think he is a dick

I was more arguing Mr_incredibles point that you seemed to back up that he made his billions and became famous based on his image. When really it was his golf. He may have earned a little extra from sponsorship based on image, but surely that is more an issue for his sponsors, and it is very much his golf that people love about him.  he is still the best, and I dont see how anyone could be less of a fan of him as a sportsman because of his personal life, unless they read a lot of gossip mags and join in on the tall poppy syndrome.

I can't help but wonder how many of the males criticizing him would manage with dozens of beautiful girls wanting them.

I'd be willing to bet many of them would've gone down the same track as Tiger.

He enhanced golf's image along the way don't forget with his good wholsesome african boy makes good at white man's strange sport. I'm not arguing he's talented but I consider golf totally boring and wdn't watch it if you paid me. lol I don't think i've ever dated a guy who play golf & truthfully to me its more a pastime than a sport

There is nothing wrong with taking up woman's offers. The wrongness is in not having the balls to say hey I don't want to be Mr Family man I want to be single
