Wellington Restaurants?

As I said, the Ian Curtis wall was graffiti from the early 80's until just a few years ago, yet it's an iconic part of Wellington.

But yes you want it comissioned mostly, like what they are doing down the lanes around the city.

Maybe the Owl Appreciation Society of New Zealand were commissioned to do some artwork for Cuba St and when the artist asked them what they want the reply came back as "We want to see Morepork!"

We had a great long weekend! Awesome weather on all four days. Loved Wellington and enjoyed the Cuba Street festival. It was great to meet some of you guys in peson.
Too bad about the game though. Hopefully they will do better the next time we come into town!

The Karaka Café on the waterfront is my new fav eating place when I come down to Welly. Friendly staff, Maori style cuisine. Yum.

The Karaka Café on the waterfront is my new fav eating place when I come down to Welly. Friendly staff, Maori style cuisine. Yum.

Just checked out their menu, that does look good. But is a Hangi just a roast? Or are they actually cooking it for hours among hot rocks? I'm sure they aren't burying it.

It would be cool if they went further, most of the dishes seem traditional cafe fare with either a Maori name or a slightly native twist but I'd like to see them using more edible indigenous flora and fauna than they currently are.

Anyway I'll go check them out, even if its just to support them in doing something like this, as we are too self deprecating sometimes and should embrace the things that are unique to this place.

Im only guessing but the hangi is probably a steam hangi done above ground.
