I enjoy Kim Hill's podcast on Saturday mornings and Emma Smith's Music 101.

But my favourites would be Walking Dead and Fresh Off the Boat (mostly for Constance Wu).

Thanks Junior82. I am always on the lookout for interesting podcasts. I will check those two out. The idea of this thread was not just to have Yellow Fever pissing matches and self promotion, but to try and swap recommendations and hopefully discover so new interesting stuff.

The Bugle is my Favourite... if they will do another episode.

DLC is a really good gaming one, the comedy button can be hit and miss, but good if I have nothing else.

Movie fights and schmoes know are great movie pods I listen to now and then.

The full 80 is a great NRL one.

Oh and ITZ used to be good, I heard it has been replaced.

I can't stand Kim Hill, she doesn't know what she's talking about half the time and is condescending to her guests even when they completely prove her wrong. Just because you look and sound intelligent doesn't make you smart.

Bbc documentaries is worth a listen. As well as the dirty bag diaries (for those interested in the outdoors and adventures). Freakinomics is another. But the best I've come across is the podcast history of our world. I'm not a history buff and anything of the sort, but the stories are told in a very engaging way. Highly recommended.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Not podcasts but audible books. I've been totally gripped by the Walking Dead, Woodbury and the Rise and fall of the Governor. Fred Bermen is a fantastic narrator.

The Parapod.

Two Northern British stand up comics, one believes in ghosts the other doesn't. Laugh out loud funny.

You can get get it in various places. Make sure you start from season one though.

Judge John Hodgman is brilliant at times.

For those interested in US politics, the FiveThirtyEight election podcast is great.

Joe Rogan Experience is decent. Has a pretty wide variety of guests so something for a lot of people. Same with The Fighter and The Kid (Bryan Callen and Brendan Shaub).

listening to a bit of WTF with Marc Maron and Bill Burr. WTF does a lot of chatting to people- it's kind of like a DVD extras I guess, if you like comedians and actors.

Bill Burr just does his thing. Either you like it or you don't. Mostly his wife. No guests, but sometimes letters.

WTF needs to skip the first 10 minutes where Marc talks about himself and how excited he is today ...

My better half has recently landed herself a job that came with 1hr of awful Auckland traffic at the end of each day which is driving her mad. I suggested podcasts or audio books. So I guess this is a question aimed at the few girls that frequent YF OR any of you blokes who's other halves listen to podcasts as well, and whether anyone knows of any poddies that might be specifically female targeted or anything that's got a broader target audience? Or even point us in the direction of somewhere to browse... Cheers!

She's a farm girl, into food/baking textile and interior design, those things are her main interests but I don't know much about podcasts and how wide they reach demographically, but I'm sure there's stuff out there that would interest her outside of her main interests

Yep, probably good as it seems as though his defense atourney was useless and he didn't get a fair crack at it. However, I'm pretty sure he's guilty.

99% Invisible has been one of my favourites recently, I download a bunch of episodes each week and listen on the way to/from uni. All about architecture and design. Really well made.

Serial and Criminal are both well made also. I really liked both seasons of Serial but like others have mentioned the first is a lot easier to get in to.

I listen to a bunch of Guardian podcasts as well, there's probably at least a couple that she would like. I usually go for Football Weekly, Politics Weekly, Science Weekly, Chips With Everything (Technology podcasts) and What Would a Feminist Do?

How good has Euro Football daily by the Guardian been? They really get the balance right between serious football knowledge/insight and banter/bullshark. Love it
