Why is it, at the beginning & end of holiday periods, TV1 6pm news always show traffic conditions on Auckland motorway off/on ramps!!? I think I know the answer, but I'd like to hear you views. What about traffic in Ham, Wgtn, Chch, Dun, etc?

but then speak to someone from either the l.t.s.a or the police about the traffic or road toll whilst standing on an overbridge,over looking the wgtn motorway and not once mention the run into the city considering the traffice jam 15 km's north of the otaki because of that stupid roundabout

That otaki round-about has been responsible for numerous hold ups and yet the LTSA haven't got any money to sort it out - perhaps if it as based near Auckland, funding might be found! Some of the traffic snarl ups down in Christchurch warrent TV warnings too. TVNZ, be consistant and fair, show them all please.

LTSA (now Land Transport) have no control over things like roundabouts, that's Transit's domain. However, with the absorbtion of things like Transit into the new 'Transport Agency' the stupidity of Transit will be checked.
