So it coming towards the end of January and football trainings have either started or just about to start.
Are players just not interested at the moment, away on holiday still or just sussing out their potential next club?

3 months until season starts so what the goss on player movements in both Central and Premier Women's Divisions and who are likely to be the clubs to watch out for this year?

Thoughts anyone?

So far have only heard of coaches changing clubs. looks like it might be a tight competition in Women's premier this year with the teams that got promoted and relegated.

Hasn't Seatoun signed everyone and locked them into water-tight contracts?

I here with the Olympics being this year that players maybe tempted to shift north to improve their chances of getting in.
If Seatoun are chasing and signing players it would make Central League very interesting.

Wondered where Tom had gone to after departing from Capital. Yup- Leo is at SO. Good coach, great motivator from my obsevations.
Seatoun has a new coach- assistant coach from Marist womens from last season. At least 1 player from Hutt Valley has signed for Seatoun. Hell of a long way to travel to play. Better get good pitch time!!

Marist are jumping across to Seatoun

my only concern is with so many moving across to Seatoun at this stage there is not space for all the current plus new ones so some players are going to get pissed off and dropped to div 1 or leave surely.......

Rumour in U/H - Mar has lost most players to other clubs. May have to pull out of Womens football.Hogster2012-02-03 17:30:41

Marist are still a strong club as have also 2 Div 1 teams can't see them pulling out of Women's Football but will be weakened i guess with the players jumping ship

Rumour is that the Marist coach went to seatoun so players followed?

Take what I say with a grain of salt

From what I understand is the younger girls from Marist last year all followed Scotty to Seatoun. This has left a pretty great big hole at Marist and a few of the more senior girls have gone there as well, because well.. that's the part I can't quite figure out.

Will there be mega drama at Seatoun this year with people getting game time? Maybe.
Will it be a bloody hard year for Marist - IMHO I think so, yeah

The only two teams i have not seen play are Brooklyn or North Wellington so they could be potential threats to the competition especially brooklyn if It is what i think and most of their last year Central league players are now playing premier?

From what I have seen then Waterside Karori, Upper Hutt, Marist are looking quite strong.

as for Central league I think it will be closer this year but still have Karori, Massey, Marist, and potentially Lower Hutt in top 4

Great day for BNU women's football

Premier team beat Marist 3-1 unfortunately i missed this game but by all accounts they desrved the win

Central League beat Marist 1-0
Was a closely fought game with few real chances
BNU scored just after half time when Marist keeper came out for the ball & missed it leaving Jo Price with an empty net to knock the ball into
Marist came at BNU for the rest of the game but solid defending reduced them to mostly long range efforts
Strong performances from Cushla the GK, Trish Cross, Jess Jameison & Hilary Bartram to shut out Marist also Jo price deserves a mention for her work rate up front
Marist looked a completely different team from last season with only 3-4 regulars from that team
Apparently a number of key players where away this weekend, BNU also had 4 players out
Should be a very interesting season with all 3 games played being close
Looking forward to next weeks games
