Don't know about other regions, but the Central/Capital ones look good

Someone was saying the other week this will be Seatoun's 8th or 9th away game. Doesnt quite match Mar's 14 straight games away

it's their 6th away game in a row, their last home game was in 2015 where they lost 0-3 to Havelock North Wanderers

Yep just asked Dr Google, last home game 2015.

2016 NW
2017 Marist, Naenae
2018 UH
2019 Wainui, UH and now NCR

All away

So this will be 7th straight away game

Chatham Cup this weekend - heres some previews

Saturday 15 June

Stop Out v Olympic Hutt Park KO 2pm

Brother v Brother in coaches Shaun (Olympic) v Scott (Stop Out) Easthope

Centenary (Stop Out founded 1919) v Diamond Anniversary (Olympic founded 1959)

Both clubs won the Chatham Cup once (Stop Out 1956, Olympic 2009)

4 previous meetings in the cup, Olympic won 3, Stop Out 1

Last meeting 2012 Stop Out won 4-2

MY PICK : game will go to pens

Lower Hutt City v Miramar Rangers Fraser Park Turf KO 5:30pm

Nicely timed so those anoraks that want can get to both games on Saturday

Lower Hutt knocked Miramar out of the cup 4-2 last season, only the second time they've beaten them in 7 meetings in the cup, the previous before that was a 2-1 win in 1976. The 5 games in between all went Miramar's way

MY PICK : Miramar

Sunday 16 June

Napier City Rovers v Seatoun Bluewater Stadium, Napier KO 2pm

4 times cup winners and Central League side Napier up against 2 times cup winners (1957,58) and Cap 1 side Seatoun

Met once in the cup before Napier winning 8-0 in 1995

Upset potential here

MY PICK : Napier (cause i don't want to jinx Seatoun)

North Wellington v Western Suburbs Alex Moore KO 2pm

Western Suburbs saw off North Wellington 5-1 in the cup last season on their way to the final. They were unable to add to 3 previous wins. There have been 3 other meetings in the cup between these teams North Wellington winnin 2-1 in 1986 and the other 2 going to Wests (or Porirua Viard United as they were called) the most significant in 2009 when Wests won 9-0

MY PICK : Wests

Meanwhile down south

New Zealand Football wishes to advise that Mosgiel AFC has been deemed to have forfeited the round two ISPS Handa Chatham Cup match against West End AFC, played on 1 June.

The on-field result was a 5-0 win to Mosgiel but, following receipt of an official protest, the Competition Administrator has deemed an ineligible player was fielded and has imposed a 3-0 loss and minimum fine on Mosgiel.

West End will therefore now progress to round three and will replace Mosgiel in meeting Roslyn Wakari AFC away on the weekend of 15 – 16 June.

How many "away" games have Seatoun had now? They looked quite organised against Upper Hutt. The coach had a game plan and didn't spend the whole time barking orders at them. He was watching his lads go out there and follow instructions. The could have won by a lot more.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

They have one of the smallest ref rooms in Wellington football. Fitting 4 people in there for this round would have been comical.

think its a Wellington Eastern Suburbs thing - Miramar have only had 2 home games in their last 15 or 16!

If anyones interested in the history of the cup

here is the start of a book I was going to write about it - covers the presentation of the cup and the first three seasons (1923-25)

bit more of a longish read than my usual stuff

If you were to take that through, that would be a fantastic centenary tribute to the cup, and no doubt the go to source in years that follow.

Get cracking, you've only got 3 years...

Really hope that you get around to documenting the history of the Chatham Cup. Some great tales from the early years in particular. Was talking to Barry Smith a while back and he told me that Mike Chadwick had done some work on the Cup's history. Personally I have some great ( if a little vague) memories of the pre 1970 days of local/provincial/north and south island finals. These games were hugely popular and greatly anticipated. Would certainly be near the front of the queue to buy that. Still have my programme from the 1966 Final - Miramars first cup win.

cheers, have spoken with Barry and Mike about this. Over the years Mike has interviewed a great number of Chatham Cup winners and has these all on tape would be great to get some of these transcribed and published

Almost as much as a 4-4 draw on Thursday night.

I’ll be able to retire soon at this rate...

Well I picked 3 out of 4

Results

Stop Out 1 Olympic 3

LHC 2 Mar 5

Napier 3 Seatoun 1

North Wellington 3 Wests 4

Commendable result for Seatoun a team that is 2 divisions below Napier and only train once a week

I went to North Wellington v Wests arrived about 20 minutes late and it was already 1-1. Just as I got there North Wellington scored a fantastic free kick, then shortly after a well worked goal to go 3-1 up. Wests replied almost immediately and then got another 2 to go into half time at 4-3 up. 2nd half was good watch, the Wests kids were just too good for North Wellington in the end

Napier 3 Seatoun 1

I caught the end of the 2nd half. Seatoun were by no means disgraced or overawed. if they were a bit calmer in the final third they might have snuck one late on to set up an interesting finale.

Good travelling continget of 'Toun fans too

Miramar Home to Olympic. Must be about the biggest derby of the round this one.

That is a proper weak Northern lineup. Surely a Wellington team will do something of note this season?

Three for me, and two for them.

It's "weak" compared to previous years because so many of the Prem teams played each other early on (with the likes of NSU beating Springs) but Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Onehunga and Manukau and a bunch others are still my favourites baring Western Suburbs.
