Perhaps 2 or 3 players from ChristChurch who were set to play in the ACFC U17 in 2015 are now unavailable, so have all 4 ChristChurch clubs picked their guest players for the ACFC U17 tournament? If not how does a player get a trial?

Coastal had 2 crocked this weekend:(

Replacement was brought in from a guest club, I think.

Looking forward to this tournament hopefully it's just as succesful as the other three competitions. Just a shame four girls teams pulled out days out from the event.

Thats a shame re. withdrawls. Looking at draw seems to be : East Coat Bays, Upper Hutt, FC2011, Bay Olympic .

Upper Hutt pulled out of the mens competition as well

Hope the tournament goes well & great opportunity for players/teams to test themselves against new opposition.

Interesting. Messaging that went out at the Upper Hutt end was that the boys' team was not able to attend. I wonder if that's because they wanted to pull just the women's team and got told it was all or nothing?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

An Upper Hutt U17 parent told me that the high air travel and accommodation costs were the main factors for Upper Hutt pulling out.

With the withdrawal of Upper Hutt City's two teams the only three teams from the Wellington Region that are now playing in the National U17 Tournament are: Lower Hutt City and Miramar Rangers (Mens Draw) and Stop Out (Women's Draw).

That's a shocker of planning if true. Surely you'd scope all of that before entering?

When I was coaching Karori U17s we tried to enter but the tourney was full, mostly because I left it too late I think. I reckon there's scope for at least one more Wellington team. Good on the clubs who make the effort.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I'm sure the organisers would be keen for another Wellington team for next year I know that they were a little disappointed last year having only Miramar in the boys draw and Upper Hutt and Stop Out in the girls draw.

You would think the Phoenix would potentially scout this tournament anyway.
