There was an almighty collision yesterday as BigDunc made another Theo Walcott-esque run into the box.....

BigDunc was stopped in his tracks for a nano-second while the Irish defender (who wouldn't look out of place in the Tonners lineup with his stature) reeled backwards before hitting the turf.

BigDunc continued his run as the Irish stood stunned that their big man had come off second best.....

True to the expectations of a team playing by the name of the Tonners.....powering their way through!!

Waterside Tonners had a 1-1 draw with Uni Brow (I think).  We were all over them until; the 87 min when Brutus and I had confusion at the back and he tapped one past my hesitating self for an own goal to make it 1-1.....

BigDunc was immense at the back, was everywhere and claimed everything!!!

Gutted...

Fixed for you Coxey, as he obviously missed claiming one in the 87th minute.

A full team for the Tonners and we get back to winning ways. Uni were young and fit but were flustered by bigger opposition.

Wanderers lost to Lower Hutt SGs 6-2 after holding them 1-1 until HT, I'm starting to get fed up with our ability to throw away games due to one or two people! Anyone want to transfer for a young, tall centre mid that has a knack for pin-point through balls? lol

CAPITAL 11: 17th May Games...

Waterside Tonners  v  Upper Hutt United  @ Wilton;
Uni Rangers             v  Stop Out                 @ Anderson
Karori Stags             v  Lower Hutt SG's      @ Wilton (12.30);
Waterside Meke       v  Waterside Irish       @ Karori 1;
Uni Brow                  v   Uni Wanderers       @ Kelburn.

Tonners should have a relatively easy game against Upper Hutt tomorrow, while the pick of the round has to be Karori Stags v Lower Hutt. Also, great Uni derby between Brow and Wanderers (my team), we need the points!

A mighty 5-2 win for the Tonners today.....against a good UH side that punched above their weight!  Tonners had a combination of me, BigDunc and Brutus in goal (not all at the same time otherwise they'd never have seen the goal!!).

Very good games by Alex, Pete, Dan, Bus, Nick, Stu and Merrick (our rock at the back).

"Oh Tonners we love you!!"

Stunning comeback for Uni Wanderers today as well. 2-1 at HT, then 2-3 final score after total domination during the 2nd half. Gives us a few much needed points and sees Uni Brow drop in to the relegation zone due to the mess between Uni Rangers and Stop Out.....park was changed at last minute from Ando Park to Johnsonville, so Rangers turned up late and had to forfeight 2-0.

A corker of a game on a waterlogged Karori Park #1 between the Stags and the Tonners ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw.

The Stags took the lead several times at 1-0, 2-1 and then 3-2 and 4-2 but the fight, battle and resilience in the Tonners lineup shone through as they never gave up and continuously fought  their way back into the match.

Both teams tried to use the faster drier parts of the pitch and the youth and pace of the Stags caused problems for the Tonners on several occasions but the real game was won in the trenches of the puddles, lakes and mud that was through the centre and the midfield where the experience and toughness of the Tonners prevailed.

A bit feisty at times for a game played between two teams from the same club, but generally played with the aggression and hunger that two teams battling for top spot in Cap 11 showed how much it meant to them.

Well played by both teams and overall was a pleasure to watch.

Uni Wanderers had a great match against Waterside Irish as well Coxey. Waterside were 2-1 ahead until the 90th min when our striker, whom we all call Fulton, popped up and headed in a beautiful cross from our captain at the far post! We gladly took the point even though we went in to the game aiming to grab 3pts.

Fulton is quite possibly the worst striker in cap 11.

I admit I played THE single worst game of my life yesterday! Appauling keeping (only did it to get my turn out of the way) and was unresponsive in midfield....though I did get the assists for both Jamuels goals......but I was f**king p*ssed off at myself last night after the game

Great insult situation in the Uni v Tonners game today. I get a knee in the back during a header and proceed to shout at the Wharfies defender "what the f*** was that?!", which his reply was  "You're a Uni student, I expect better of you thank you!"......WTF?! Did he expect me to abuse him in Latin of something???? hahahaha.

Wharfies played too well today, we Uni Wanderers are playing utter pathetic and its starting to put thoughts in my mind of moving next season.

Yeah Uni v Tonners was a good game while I was there - and I sure like Wilton Park too (Home of the Tonners).

Went from being 3-1 after 30mins when I arrived to 6-2 after 20mins of 2nd half when I left.  The Tonners consist of some very good seasoned players, some raw talent and enthusiasm and a mighty 130kg Cristiano Ronaldo and they are all having a ball this season.

Dissapointing game for Uni brow who went down 2-1 to Irish on Saturday, midway into the 2nd half as we got more desperate to score we did alot better in our attack.

Before our game we got to watch the karori stags play stop out, stags are a pretty good team, i think it was like 4-0.

Uni brow should hopefully have a better second half to finesh off the season.
