the old 'rebuilding' chestnut
Capital 1
Fair chat, matt c still got some genuine class!
He has indeed, if only we could stop him trying to kill the opposition :).
the old 'rebuilding' chestnut
Worked for Liverpool and the Nix for a number of years :)
Not sure what happened with BNU against Miramar but they got a good thrashing by 5 goals in Sunday, anyone who was there care to comment?

Doh!!! I meant Lower Hutt for BNU and Miramar for KCU
Mir v KCU the Mir coach had to play as his 11th player strained a Leg muscal . Going down 2 goals while the rejiged formation sorted it self - some how he turned his body clock back some 14 years and scored a hat trick . 2 other players joined in on his party. 5-2
An unnamed source sent me this. What the table would look like if North Wellington didn't have "the best lawyers in the league".

Actually we dont have good lawyers, we just want a level playing field and all clubs to play by the rules, as it turns out Capital Football and NZ Football want the same.
DomPost today says Sky is going to show "Capital One Cup games". Seatoun v Jville? Kapiti v BNU? Can't wait.

I told you all that this was the most interesting league in Wellington :)

Man you wharfies are butt hurt. Lol at mocking up this table. You broke the rules, deal with it. Not like you're ever getting promoted anyway, technically have more chance of getting relegated any given season

To be fair to them it wasn't a Karori mock up.

Seatoun v Miramar Big Game
Seatoun v Miramar Big Game
I think based on the tightness of the league they are all big games from now on.
Uni firsts beat IBU in Cap 1 today 2-1.
Seatoun 6pts behind Karori with 3 games left. Their chance of automatic promotion looks to be gone.
North Welly possibly out of the running now, massive result for kapiti.
Howday forum. Just come back to country from OE, so bit out of play, but heard shocking rumour bout point-pinching in this grade ... without doing research (as student, can't be afforded to time), can I get recap pse?
Got mixed messages to date. Heard, but can't believe true, North Johnsonvillers protested league top team cos they lost to teenagers who weren't given appropriate medical dispensing.
Say I, well done to Northern Johnsonvillers. Those kids could have got hurt during that 9-1 loss to Waterside of Karori. Honor to you for protecting of their interest and honor. You have held up their safety over any interests of others. Hummus.
Then I herd Northern Johnsonsons protested cos Cap Futsals web site didnt register transfer of their former captain, yet apparently did accept register other players coming from Johnsons Norths. Hmmm, sounds strange, but again, I believe that club is not club of mother of goats and would respect to be fair. Surely they wouldnot be issue if he had cleared all dews as it said he did.
So again, I say this must be fair play and well done to North of Johnsontown for insuring fair play is kept at highest standards of play of fair. Without Norths Johnstones single-handed actions of acts, league would be disgrace of unfair, unsporting, unfairplay of unniceness. Thank you to parents of family of club from province of Johnson of Northern, may your family be proud, as we all are.
Thus and Allah, for you bashers of Northern Johnsonviles, I say you must be wrong. The truth will be bespoke before the bespoke be the truth (or is that the bespoken be bespoke before the truth be spoken) ... North John has shown all that we must not lose focus that on park endeavor is second to following law of letter. Cross of i and dotting of t is how sporting contest should be played.
Thank you for reminding all of how to compete Northern of Johnstonesville.
Pure chat that

It just wasn't our day yesterday. Our striker lobed the keeper but the ball hit a hard patch on the goal line and bounced straight up onto the crossbar. Their Keeper pulled out a fantastic save later on to deny us then our striker then proceeded to blast over from in front with a pretty much open goal.
To be fair KCU had plenty of chances as well and our keeper had a fantastic game and pulled off some great saves but spilled a simple catch for their first goal.
Reffing left a little bit to be desired IMHO, KCU keeper should have been sent off for bringing our striker down just outside the box when he was the last man. Lost one of our midfielders with about 15 to go from a horrible tackle from behind (studs up straight into his Achilles) which may put him out for the rest of the season (guy only got a yellow when it really should have been a straight red). Down to 10 men for that last 15 due to that unfortunately.
However KCU took their chances and battled away to the win so congrats to them and their coach (nice guys as well. Thank you to the KCU guys that stayed for a fair while at our clubrooms, much appreciated).
It makes things even tighter now, although results seem to have fallen our way yesterday.

Don't give up your day job
1: Uni did not follow the rules (and they knew it) so got punished .
2: Karori's issue was more unfortunate and if it had been up to me I would have let it go (and settled for a complimentary pie and beer as penance after the return match at their place :) ). Unfortunately it wasn't my call.
Look, however much some of the rules seem asinine and redundant, they are the rules so we have to follow them and if caught breaking them get punished. If clubs don't like it then they can get the rules changed by lobbying Cap Football.
To me it seems that clubs have got away with gaming the rules for years now (especially for the old chestnut of Central and Cap Prem clubs dropping to many players down to ensure wins for their lower teams). It happened when I was playing and it still happens now but if we want a level playing field and fair competition for everyone then the affected clubs need to step up and speak out.
It might sound a bit holier than thou but hey when we sign on to play or coach we agree to stick to the rules.
Sunday Sermon over.......
+1 Teza. A fair reflection of things. A few points to raise a bit off topic regarding some of the teams in the league;
1) what has happened to brooklyn? They beat us 3-1 earlier in the season, yesterday we humped them 6-1 and it could and should have been double digits.
2) are seatoun a chance for promotion? Last week they looked a good side, we were fortunate to beat them. However, the amount of time they spent whinging/diving was to their detriment, and they finished the game with 10 as one of their players kicked out at our man on the ground.
3) Tawa have the second best defensive record, but worsed offense. At real risk of relegation, as is their first team to some degree.

Not sure about BNU and was wondering about yesterdays result as they have some good players but seem to have gone off the boil a bit.
Seatoun are not a bad side but I think would struggle in Cap Prem without an injection of a few players. Based on their recent results I don't think they will get promoted but in this strange league who knows.
Again Tawa are not a bad side but like us young and a bit inexperienced which does tell when you look to close out tight games or hang onto slim leads.
Having a core of 2 or 3 experienced players really helps sometimes to settle the gung ho attitude of the younger ones down and organise the team when things are tight. I think its something a number of the younger aged teams in the league lack a little bit (including us if I'm going to be brutally honest). Although in Lower Hutts case this hasn't seemed to affected them to much.
BNU have the same problem every season - player depth. Doesn't help when your reserves are in cap 5 either. Both sides traditionally struggle for players at the end of every season.
question for a Guru
Top 2 get automatic promotion, Karori cant go up because
they have a team in cap prem already… which means 3rd then gets a
play off match (at this stage against wellington united 2nds)… but wellington
united 1st are bottom in Central League so automatically drop
to cap prem… does that mean 3rd place wont have to play a promotion
match because wellington united seconds will need to go to cap 1? Assuming the
situation stays the same in all grades!!!
It will all depend on the Central league final positions - as Wgtn United have teams in C/L and Cap Prem. Hold the questions.

Miss Read his last sentence!!!!
Without double checking and having my head explode with the permutations - I'm pretty sure the answer is yes
Actually it will depend on whether Palmy Marist get up too

13.2 At the end of each season, promotions are always completed first then relegations are made as required.
13.4 Capital Premier
13.4.a After two rounds: ...
· the necessary number of relegations (if any) will take place.
13.5.c If the second placed team is ineligible for promotion:
· the team finishing first will be automatically promoted if eligible
· the team finishing third will enter a playoff if eligible.
So dealing with promotion first as the regs say. As it stands LHC will auto go up. Karori can’t, therefore according to 13.5.c Seatoun will enter a playoff.
Thus we have 1 auto promotion and one playoff.
Now dealing with relegation, Wellington United are relegated automatically (cancelling out LHC auto promotion). Leaving only Wainui as the other relegation threatened team. Therefore they enter the playoff.
