What's happens to IBU if they finish bottom, with their 3rds top of Cap2?

No problem they just swap leagues. So Island Bay stay where they are no matter what.

So the thirds become the 2nds and vice versa?

The interesting thing for IBU is that the cannot regrade ANY 1st team players this week,

why can't they?

Once a league has been completed, players from that team can't re-grade. I believe is the rule.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Spot on. Hence why Mirarmar cant play any Prem players in Cap 1 but can play 1 Central player as the Central league is still going.

Oooo, I'm not sure you're right there. Isn't it "completed" from the pov of that team?

It reads 'at the conclusion of their league', so I think it is when the whole league has finished as opposed ot your own teams games.

Happy to be corrected though.

The intention of the reg is once that team has completed it's matches so I think that's how it should be managed.

They play their last game Saturday, the 2nds play Sunday.

Shouldn't it be when that team has completed? Wairarapa United played a first team player who was red carded the week before, for their second team on the Sunday after the top team played on the Saturday and he "served" his suspension. Would make sense if the game definition was used across the board would it not?

Its written as 'when the league is finished' but the intention may have been different.

So can someone explain to my basic brain the promotion relegation implications? Wellington United are definitely dropping down to Cap 1 next year and if Wainui come last, then they will also drop and top 2 teams from Cap 1 will be promoted? Although as one is wharfies, they will stay and Seatoun will take the second place?

This is the only way it can happen unless Wainui win on the weekend in Cap Prem and come second to last, therefore go into a play off with Seatoun?

See Prem thread
You forget that Welly Utd firsts drop into Prems and take the second team spot.
Wainui are then auto relegated for Lower Hutt if Stop Out dont get promoted and Marist play off vs Seatoun
OR
Stop Out get promoted, Lower Hutt take their spot, and Wainui play off vs Seatoun

So what happens to Wellington Uniteds 2nd team? Do they drop to Cap 1 leaving only 1 promotion spot?

How about this scenario:

If Island Bay finish last in Cap 1 (a big if in my opinion as they have a good side) you could have this scenario: Cap Football do the promotions first according to their regs, so Island Bay Cap 2 can't get promoted because you can't have 2 teams in Cap 1 or above so another team goes up, then they do the relegations so IBU Cap 1 go down and now IBU have 2 teams in Cap2 and none in Cap1.

Probably completely incorrect on my part but is this possible (I would think that comon sense would prevail but you never know)?

dunno this stuff does my head in. I think it is kind weird that they say third place gets a playoff game - but doesn't give a clue as to who it would be against depending on different scenarios.

It does my head in to and I've read the regs a number of times this season (as we all know :) ).

The promotion relegation section is not very clear and could do with a bit of tidying up.

I was also just checking to plan my weekend football watching! Basically, the Seatoun vs Island Bay game has no meaning for promotion into Cap Prem as either scenario sees Seatoun go into a playoff? but the game does have an impact on whether Island Bay get relegated....The Wests vs Naenae Cap 2 game might be more worthy of watching!

"too" pleasa, not "to", say tutors, when used as "also". Sorry for Norths of Welts, but u be relegated this end of week. In sight of hinds, may be better that therefore u played card of fair play and go down honest, with earn some respect from league (who now despise and laugh). Suggestion for future, no? Tho too (also) late as no one care of first team at new level Cap of 3 etc, I guess. Of gd wishes and luv for u in peace.

I have a hug ready for our boys just in case

I have some valium to calm the coaching staff down over the weekend in case it all goes down to the wire on Sunday

I have the Crane, Poole & Schmidt on speed dial.

So all good to go :)

Well done Karori.  A good game by both sides with no real niggle.
Two errors by us gifted karori two goals and a great performance from their keeper denied us 2 or 3.  That's not to say karori didn't have their chances as well, our keeper had to pull off a few good saves himself.

No comment on our second goal :) the ref was adamant after the game though that the ball went in.

Overall a good performance from our guys, much more grit and determination was shown, which bodes well for next season

Now we wait. ......

that was a poor call from that ref to give your second. He was on nearly halfway and could never have conclusively determined whether the ball was over.

I agree (but we had to take it though as them's the rules :) ). The ref said afterwards that he saw a shadow over the line and the fact that the keeper ran into the inside side netting afterwards cliched it for him (he was a way back as you said so not sure about that). I thought overall though he had a pretty good game, got most things right and was fair for both sides.

It was a good clean tough game today with some nice passing movement from both sides as well as some good moments of individual skill. I'm obviously disappointed with the result as I thought we played well and deserved a draw at the least but on the other hand we finally stepped up and added a bit of physicality to our play, something that's been missing from our game a bit this season.

Really pleased with how our younger players played today especially our number 13,16 & 11 :) they are developing into good players and should be better for the experience this year.

Overall it's been a tough season for us what with basically having to rebuild an entire squad again (only 3 1st team players left from last year and all of them under 21) but with this squad and the addition of a couple of more experienced players next year I think we are on the right path (no matter what happens tomorrow).

It was also good to meet you finally Feverish, hopefully well meet you guys again in Cap one next season.

Final BNU v Miramar 1-6.

BNU played well in the first half and early in the 2nd.  They got it back to 2-1 in the second but Miramars greater experience and skill took the game away from them. The never gave up trying though.
