Yep, NW still have game in hand and play Brooklyn so race is still on. Fuck I love this league.

First time I had ever watched a game of a Football at Kilbirnie Park. Dynamics of the pitch made me uncomfortable watching from the sideline.

God knows what it was like playing on it.

Teams hate coming to Kilbirnie, especially teams in the top half of the table. Really difficult to play quality football on.

Glad we got 3 points today but feel for NW. Would rather see them get promoted instead of BNU.

Hopefully we can do NW a favour next week and take points off Brooklyn.

Think you might be alone with that statement - NW are only in this league due to protests and we have them to thank for an 11 team league.

Glover I think you would find not many people want BNU to go up. North Wellington still play some of the best football in this league. Better than Brooklyn.

Say what you want , but I would just like the two best teams to go up.

But hey, guess we will know who the two best teams have been all season when we look at the top two teams in a few weeks when its all done and dusted...

nah Green machine isnt the only one who wants to see NW take that last promotion spot

your away form suggest otherwise RE BNU game but it would be appreciated by some for a draw or even if you did get all 3 points.

i do feel though that Miramar might have a game plan for tomorrow that will also help keep the tension in this race until the 30th….

i think some more pop corn and some extra charlie for the run home….

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

You're right about our away form. But nobody gave us a chance at all last time we played BNU. They were taking a team photo before the game and calling it their "Victory Photo" before a ball had even been kicked. Idiots. Won 3-2 that day.

Its a sweaty time for top of the table clubs and when you go out onto that field knowing that you have to win to get promotion frustration can sometimes kick in, it did today for NW.

As for Miramar VS BNU tomorrow I think you're right. They're desperate to have their 3rd team in Cap 1 and with the possibility of 4 teams getting relegated this year they won't want to take any chances and will probably drop players.

You mean the fact that it's a disgraceful paddock?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Couple d with the ref and the pitch it was dangerous at times and threatened to boil over in one or two instances. Marist had more energy at the end of the day and with such a bumpy and uneven surface NW couldn't hold possession like the usually do. The fact it wasn't wet and the ball bounced on made it worse. . Still lots to play for for most teamd

I was playing buddy. To be fair the ref was rubbish. But he was rubbish for both sides.

Any news about results from today?

According to Capital Football website

Miramar 1 BNU 3

KCU 3 Karori 3

A cracking game up a at weka. Wharf 1-0 down after 30 seconds, got it back to 1-1. Then punished clinically in quick succession by KCUs MOM who grabbed his second and third to make it 3-1. Looked like it could be a cricket score but Wharf knuckled down to make it 3-2 before the break. Second half a different Wharf side came out and dominated long periods, got the equaliser and probably deserved more, they threw everything at them. KCU hit the side netting in the last 5 but it wasnt to be. 3-3 final. Great game to watch

Bloody ell - wouldn't have picked that!

All in all a safe game for BNU today. Mars goal was a penalty. 3-1 at half time and stayed that way. Miramar dropped maybe one player, but otherwise they battled away, only started with 1 on the bench I think. Good on them for playing with the team they have played with all season. Both teams fairly wasteful in front of goal. Ref was being assessed and seemed very whistle happy for any offiside call, going both ways

Quite interesting they didn't drop players as it is always a possibility that Capital Football may decide to relegate 4th bottom, which is where they now sit.

Wharf held the absolute wealth of possession. KCU continually knock it in behind early to their whippet forwards. Nice atmosphere up there (apart from some idiot on the sideline continually trying to bait players) and a cracking pitch.

Maybe Miramar couldn't drop anyone decent due to the 14 game regrade rule?

think there are only 2 people in our second team that have played 14 games.

Was he an older guy? Grey hair? When we played Kapiti a few weeks ago he even came onto the subs bench and tried to pick a fight after baiting our team the whole game.

I could just hear him constantly and I was on the other side of the pitch. Someone said afterwards he does it all the time and has been warned by refs and maybe his own club. Nothing wrong with banter but this guys chat seems pretty childish

Hahah where you there? Am aware they take a photo every match but if you were you would have heard them openly saying it was their "Victory photo" before play.

Pretty hard to take you seriously when you have a picture of Zyzz as your Dp...

What in heaven's name is wrong with saying you want to win. It's not tiddlywinks. Or the Under-8s.

So what, somebody might have quipped 'victory photo', what's wrong with that? Probably a couple of lads having a quick laugh before kick off. Big deal. Also not sure who you are referencing as 'you' as though I'm part of BNU... I don't even play. Equally hard to take the GREEN_MACHINE seriously after 7 bitter posts (and you know who Zyzz is so you're not any better)

What's with the dislike for BNU anyway? Carrying some of old Blellock's butt hurt perhaps? Lost your keeper to a better side? Cheer up mate, even if you get relegated this season at least you'll be able to lay claim to beating one of the competitions benchmark sides :)

You wanting a gold star or something Green_Machine? Maybe a Player of the Day Certificate and a voucher for some McDonalds small fries like we use to get back playing U7's?

Only problem I have with BNU is their attitude. After we beat them at Kilbirnie their coach gave the most disgraceful speech I have ever witnessed. Pretty much called out on of his ex players who now plays for us and scored that match. Then told us that his team would teach us a "lesson" next time we played them. Grow up. Reflected badly on him as a person as well as his team.

Their match reports keep popping up on my newsfeed on facebook and are terrible as well, inflating their own egos and talking themselves up  every week, even after they lose. I read North Wellington report of the game against Marist and it seemed unbias and fair.

Who stopped BNU's unbeaten run?

Until then they looked like they were unstoppable and would cast aside the weak.

and marist had very bad form which showed at the time as a weakness.

so the comments were not wise and premature but had some justification Green machine.

i am just glad you and your team used this to motivate you to the win which seems to have turned your season around a bit into a fight to stay up rather than a slide to relegation .

attitude is what you need to put you past that point to win promotion and in your case to possibley save the situation so please don't knock attitude cause your teams attitude and team work on saturday got you 3 valuable points and i hope NW will take that page from your book and apply it for there next few games…..

just curious what happens next year? does cap 1 stay at 11 teams or does the 11 team grade slowly filter down thru cap 2/ cap 3 till a team pulls out to even up the numbers???

This has been clearly spelled out on this forum. 10-team league next year.

Three get relegated (or four if SO lose to Upcountry United)

Permalink Permalink

so if 3 get relegated to get back to a 10 team league does it still mean there is an 11 team league somewhere unless a team pulls out?

Permalink Permalink

3 down from Cap 1 and all divisions below. 4 if stop out don't go up.

Permalink Permalink

3 teams relegated until a team pulls out probably. My pick is Cap 4 or 5

Permalink Permalink

so NW and CF have farked over multiple grades and teams. Brilliant.

Allegedly
