To make it (slightly) more complicated, if you get three teams down from Cap Prem to Cap One, then you will have FOUR teams going down from Cap One because of the need to reduce Cap One to 10 teams next season. This is the North Wellington Relegation Rule.

That's not a blanket 4 teams down though, because in some of the leagues below there may not be two teams to go up. You'd have to check each league.

The rule as regards promo/relo is that the top two teams in a league go up. If one of them can't go up, the third placed team gets a playoff against the highest ranked team to be relegated.

Messy, but mostly logical.

i think it's more the North wellington non relegation rule that capital football added for the 2014 season.

there are some in the club who accept that NW was relegated at the end of 2013 season as per the NZFA final ruling.

but we have no influence over capital football or there decision making process to make the special rule that NZFA indicated CF could do to fulfil there initial decision to only relegate two teams from capital one.

Hi all,

To help clarify matters even further, the make-up of the top three divisions for 2015 goes something like this:

Central League:

Lower Hutt City, Marist Palmerston North, Miramar Rangers, Napier City Rovers, Petone, Tawa, Wairarapa United, Wellington Olympic, Western Suburbs, Stop Out or Wanganui Athletic

Capital Premier:

Brooklyn Northern United, Island Bay United, Kapiti Coast United, Miramar Rangers, Upper Hutt City, Victoria University, Waterside Karori, Wellington Olympic, Wellington United, Petone or Stop Out

Capital One:

Island Bay United, Lower Hutt City, Marist Wellington, North Wellington, Seatoun, Tawa, Waterside Karori, Wellington United, Western Suburbs, Miramar Rangers or Petone

Cheers,

JR

And NW remain BNU's bogey team. I think they'll be glad they wont have to play them again next season.

Seems you're right about that fact. Have a hunch however that BNU would not be more glad to face quality teams in Cap Prem like Karori or Stop Out (if SO don't win play off that is).

I believe it will be:

Cap Prem relegation to Cap 1 = seatoun and lower hutt

Cap 1 promotion to Cap Prem = kcu and bnu

Cap 1 relegation to Cap 2 = vic uni, wainui, and naenae

Cap 2 promotion to Cap 1 = wests and tawa

So Cap 1 next year would be:

island bay

karori

lower hutt

marist

miramar

north wellington

seatoun

tawa

wellington utd

wests

Are Naenae definitely back down into Cap 2?

Permalink Permalink

Irony in ‘Nae getting the third bottom drop spot given they were one of the two clubs fighting the eleven team league injustice.

As long as Wests and Tawa and all other Cap1 teams take their spot then yeah, Naenae are down.

NW bringing the lols every season.

Permalink Permalink

by the sounds there might not be much social left in the NW club this year with some the policies and actions that have been implemented by the powers that be.

i wonder if these actions re second team coach and others is to keep there profile alive in the social media to compensate.

only two weeks to see whats happened over the break and i am sure the drums will be beating and we will have more detail after easter..

or TEZA could confirm but probably won't.

I thought they were riding high after their pre season friendly win over Lower Hutt?

Permalink Permalink

This club given its size should be at minimum a contender to win Capital Premier. Clubs have ups and downs but NW has been down for so long and there appears to be constant controversy.

I heard ref got knocked out cold in Wharf 4-0 over Seatoun

Permalink Permalink

Wharf 4 Seatoun 0. Karori were good value in first half, mainly due to

Dylan in midfield. The game ended on 80m in bizarre manner when a

seemingly harmless ball hit the ref on the head and knocked him out

cold as if he had been hit by David Tua. He was revived after a bit and

wanted to play on, but the officials getting ready for the main game dragged

him away and the teams agreed to call it a day. Seatoun have lost all that

wonderful spark that saw them promoted out of this league two years ago.

Given results so far interesting game next weekend between Karori and Wests. And also North Wellington vs. Wellington United for slightly different reasons.

I love how when NW lose all the trolls crawl out from under their bridges with rumours and doomsday predictions. However when NW win - not a peep. Seems to just be the same old couple of haters... (or just the one...)

what are you on as what trolls are you looking for here.

The only slagging of NW i have noted on this thread is the 11 team situation and that is now gone.

and the rest is football talk….

if you refer to energy 27.7 comment it is pure football as Karori and wests are up the top half and so it should be a tight game and will Whalfies get some points or will west keep on rolling.

And NW have started well and now face a team that is struggling with 0 for & 15 against so will they paste them or give there bench a run and still paste them?

so this is two different reasons these games will be interesting to see the results of.

i don't see nothing nasty or troll like here

and please point out any doomsday comments made when NW have lost last year?.

except from members who clubs beat them as this is part of normal football banter.
